Amazon China is seeking someone with an entrepreneurial flair, a self-starter, to push the envelope in building up this new operation. Candidate will work cross functionally across Retail, Operations, Vendors, Logistics Partners and other Amazon locales to enable a new business model for Amazon China.
A successful candidate will be expected to think and act both strategically and tactically. He or she will be analytical, customer centric, resourceful, team oriented, and an effective communicator. This individual will be data driven, detail-oriented, extremely organized and professional, capable of handling multiple projects at once, able to take direction, capable of dealing with ambiguity and rapidly-changing priorities, and comfortable working with cross functional teams.

Responsibilities:
? Primary goal of this role is to provide the leadership to build up a scalable and sustainable direct import business for Amazon China in order to provide varied and differentiated products offering to our customer leveraging on Amazon global network and resources
? Design and optimize the direct Import process.
? Internally build up Retail Import Business team to support all required info and support to category teams
? Work with Transportation team to build up direct import logistics supporting teams
? Work externally with traders and other logistics providers
? Analyze and understand the cost model of direct import and evaluate the best way to handle these import products;
? Work with global teams in other locales to evaluate and enable the brands to be bring into CN;
? Identify the global brands which are already in CN, and support Retail category teams to prioritize and build up the relationship with them;
? Guide category team to prioritize which brands and products need to be imported
? Serve as primary interface between IT, Marketing and the business team for issues within the program’s scope;
Basic Qualifications
? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
? An MBA or equivalent experience spanning multiple functions within a multi-national company
? Experience managing import product business in China
? Superior communication skills, including the proven ability to effectively manage, influence, negotiate, and communicate with external business partners and internal teams to meet operational performance goals
? Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads, maintain a strong attention to detail, and work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
? Ability to design solutions and deliver projects that involve software and physical process change, and combine multiple projects into a coherent program offering
? Ability to drive change in loosely defined situations
? Ability to translate large amounts of data into actionable insights
? Fluent Mandarin Chinese and English
? Ability to write tightly-worded proposal documents in English
