To establish a Job Description that outlines the reporting relationships, prerequisites, responsibilities and general job requirements for the Senior ME Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES

- It shall be the responsibility of the Asst. ME Manager and ME Manager to ensure that the Snr.ME Engineer understands this Job Description and that she/he leads the section in continuous improvement in the areas identified herein.

- It shall be the responsibility of the Snr.ME Engineer to direct and coordinate his/her section to achieve continuous improvement in the areas identified herein.- Senior ME Engineer responsible for the process development and fabrication of new low volume /high mix products as well as high volume/low mix products for Jabil Customers in a variety of major industries which include PCBA manufacturing, mechanical assembly manufacturing and optical component manufacturing.- Develop process for new products and refine/improve current product processes. - Define, implement and document processes tooling,fixture and equipment to manufacture products. - Define, implement and document process quality measurement methods and systems, monitor results for process control and quality improvements.- Provide initial training to manufacturing personnel.- Provide work direction and technical assistance to process technicians and other engineers as required.- Provide bid input covering engineering support estimates, process assumptions, standard time estimates, NRE and equipment resources required.- Provide Design For Manufacturing (DFM) input to projects as appropriate.- Interface with customers at the request of the Workcell Manager or Business Unit Manager in order to understand all technical requirements for all aspects of product production.- Report technical project status to Jabil management and Customer on a periodic basis.- Lead transition from prototype or new product production to volume production of complex electro-mechanical assemblies.- Some International and Domestic travel is required for this position.- Perform piece part assembly specification review support.
Requirements:- Proficient and knowledgeable in all areas related to the Manufacturing Engineering. - Able to communicate clearly and effectively in both verbal and written media. - Able to lead and coach all ME , TS, MS, EIT and other junior ME personnel to enable them to be more independent and take ownership of their efforts.- Degree in Science or Technical discipline with at least 3 years of working experience in ME related field - Minimum of 5 years previous experience in product manufacturing engineering. Specific manufacturing experience in PCBA (both PTH and SMT), mechanical component or optical components preferred as we are seeking senior process engineers within each of these teams.- Experience as a team lead or lead technical.- Expertise in Word, Excel and MS Project. - Experience in working cross functionally with Workcell Managers, BUM, BUD, Process Programmers, Materials Procurement, Customer and Production Personnel is required. - Experience in the contract manufacturing industry is a plus. - Hands-on, self-starting individual with strong interpersonal, integration, business and technical skills.
