our client is a NASDAQ listed company that designs and manufactures products for optical communications networks, communications test and measurement equipment, lasers, optical solutions for authentication and decorative applications, and other custom optics. It is headquartered in Milpitas, California in the United States. It operates in more than 160 countries, with over 5, 000 employees, by the year of 2011 it’s total revenue accounts for US$ 1.8 billion.

Responsibility:

Primary responsibility as Business Controllership function for China Operations

Business and Sales Support:
Assist with deal structures and analysis (Ts & Cs, Profit calculation)
Financial dashboard reviews with Country Managers, Sub-Regional Directors
Corrective action plans, as required
Local revenue recognition compliance training and refresher courses under the lead of the revenue recognition desk
Ad hoc reporting and analysis requirement

Finance and Accounting Support
Revenue recognition support
Cash collection support
Forecasting incl. Cash forecast
Budgeting
Variance analysis
Ensuring accuracy of monthly package (2nd level review, accruals)
Income statement flux analysis. (Balance sheet flux done by hub)
Financial approvals and enforcement of policies and procedures.

Legal and Tax Support
Review of the VAT declaration
Interface to the third party contractors in regard of:
Support statutory close
Support of annual income tax declaration
Support of local tax declarations
Support of social security declaration
Support of statutory requests (Intrastat, various statistics, compliance with new regulations)
Conduct stakeholder meetings
Support of all audits (Accounting, Social security, VAT, Customs, Tax, etc.)

Payroll Support
Calculation of sales commissions
Validating payroll
Bonus payments
Pension Management and Calculation
Holiday accruals other personnel related accruals

Personnel Management
Assist with creation of SIPs/MIPs
Assist with personnel related issues (Merit increases, payroll questions, etc.)
Ensure that the HR database information is current
Assist in hiring process for their supported countries
