POSITION SUMMARY:
This position requires an energetic skilled IT Engineer experienced in information technology best practice with the ability to translate and action the requirements of a dynamic and complex organization. The incumbent will be involved in 'hands on' business improvement activities relating to hardware, software and associated infrastructure. The incumbent must be able to work as an effective member of a regional and global business ensuring agreed policies are applied.

This position has the overall responsibility for ensuring best practise is established and maintained in Information Technology across IMI China facility. Pro active monitoring and management of the IT performance in the businesses, providing clear interpretation of issues as and when they occur, and defining corrective action plans to ensure resolution within agreed budget parameters are key responsibilities of the role.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the integrity and reliability of the hardware, software and infrastructure:
1. Establish and maintain best practice in Information Technology.
2. PC hardware and software support
3. End users support on a variety of issues. Identifies researches and resolves technical problems. Responds to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support. Documents, tracks and monitors the problem to ensure a timely resolution.
4. Installation, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of local area network (LAN), WAN, internet security and telephony systems
5. Operation system support for windows platform servers
6. Managing windows domain controller and exchange server
7. Managing, monitoring the local storage and backup system.
8. Monitoring and reporting of IT performance.
9. Interpretation of issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
10. Manage costs within agreed budget parameters.
11. Ensure the companies’ IT assets are secure, maintained, and serviced as required
12. Authentication management of local users.
13. Third party contract management and negotiation.
14. Compliance with local, regional and global policies and procedures.

EXPERTISE REQUIRED:
1. Expert knowledge of advanced network components (Internet/Extranet/Intranet, wireless, firewall, LAN, WAN, VOIP, Telecommunications technology).
2. Experience in desktop support, LAN/WAN, server room systems or managing information systems
3. Background in matrix global organizations and / or a multi national public company with success in driving process improvement.
4. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft packages and knowledge with latest releases
5. Expert knowledge of help desk supporting of windows platform
6. Experience in monitoring systems such as SNMP tools or other related experience
7. Wide area network (WAN) design and implementation
8. Data centre (Server room) management with Best Practice experience (Managing, monitoring, backup and disaster recovery).
9. Server virtualization technology
10. Database (Microsoft SQL server) management experience.
11. Knowledge of application development tools
12. String ability to analyze and solve complex problems using analytical and creative problem solving skills for infrastructure and network
13. Proven preparation and maintenance of IT budgets.
14. Fluent in the English language.
15. Strong communication skills with different level of user.
16. Third party contract management and negotiation experience.
17. Skilled in time, priority & task management
18. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Previous exposure and knowledge of a major ERP system.
SUPERVISION:
1. Direct Supervision of third party contractors.
2. Indirect supervision / interaction with regional/group IT, accounting and HR staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent - desirable
2. Five plus years of hands on experience in a multi national company and / or a regional business with multiple remote sites.
3. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft windows server platform, domain controller and exchange
4. Extensive knowledge of information technology related hardware, software, associated infrastructure particularly wide area networks.
5. Experience with Cisco Routers, Switches, Firewalls and VPN devices is highly desirable
