Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities
* Act as primary/lead SQE for metallics suppliers in China with a focus on machined parts * Functions as a liaison between sourcing, engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to resolve quality issues related to manufactured parts and components * Develops positive relationships and works closely with strategic sourcing to on-board and manage new suppliers * Proactively identifies improvement opportunities and effectively resolves issues * Facilitates and instructs SQE/suppliers in the proper use of Statistical Process Control and 6 sigma methodologies * Provides technical process support to suppliers during launch (NCI) process * Give recommendations &/or make technical process decisions to ensure defect-free process through program management * Provide supplier quality functional and cross-functional leadership, training, and mentoring * Help train SQEs and suppliers and make sure defined standards are properly applied (NCIs, CARs, audits, etc) * Drive process qualification at suppliers (control plans, trial runs, process audits, etc) * Develop and manage comprehensive improvement plans with low performing suppliers in collaboration with SQEs, Engineering, and Sourcing * Develop, implement, and monitor advanced technical training and associated methods and tools * Support/drive supplier capability and capacity to meet product requirements * Manage appropriate tollgates * Drive comprehensive root cause investigations

Qualifications/Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree from accredited university or college in Engineering or Quality related field* Minimum of 7 years’ experience in process and quality improvement within a manufacturing environment* Familiarity with machining processes on a variety of materials, machines and machining technologies* Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Mandarin* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills* Demonstrated ability to document, plan, influence and manage programs across cross functional teams* Demonstrated ability to work independently and at remote locations without direct managerial oversight* Ability to travel (50-70% travel, primarily China domestic)* Strong problem solving skills* 6 sigma/lean green belt preferred
