Role Summary/Purpose

The team leader of Riser System team of Technology Group of GE Wellstream in Shanghai, China, will report operationally to the technology vice present based in Houston US, and functionally to subsea system manager of CTC shanghai. This role is expected to demonstrate accountability for objectives of the local team, also contribute to the overall strategy development and long-term planning of the technology department. Essential Responsibilities

• The team leader of Riser System will be responsible for the performance of the team in area of developing technical skill and promoting team working sprit, and aligning with company objectives and demands. • Assist VP North America – in the development of the global Technology department strategy, Goals & Objectives • Shall co-ordinate and monitor technical activities ensuring that Business Development, Technology, Projects, Integrity Management and Clients are provided with a professional service. • Manage the team resource; ensuring deliverables are met in line with quality, schedule and budgetary constraints. • The team leader will assist in both the development of and roll-out of improvements to the engineering process and implement and capture lessons learned within the company Knowledge Management systems. • Prepare, review and approve analysis documentation – to appropriate level - in accordance with the approvals matrix. • Facilitate the analysis / execution engineering interface. • Undertake, review and approve calculations and analyses using software as well as hand calculations • Provide technical support to engineering and also to external customers. • Ensure that the applicable analytical aspects of the design, quality and safety requirements are implemented in accordance with GE Oil & gas and statutory requirements. • Produce engineering reports and other documents in accordance with GE Oil & Gas procedures in line with Schedule. • Co-ordinate recruitment of analysts in line with department strategy as required. • Participate in the Performance Development Review process for the team. • Develop, co-ordinate and mentor training programs for analysts in conjunction with HR and L&D • Promote team working spirit • Any other duties as required by VP North America

Qualifications/Requirements

o Minimum MSc degree in a related engineering subject such as Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering, Mechanics, Mechanical, Civil, Structural.o PhD in above subject will be competitiveo Minimum relevant industry experience 6 to 8 yearso Chartered status with a recognized professional institute is preferredo Relevant experience within an analytical/engineering environment and in a leadership role. Proven track record of leading a team of professional analysts and engineerso Desirable to have understanding of engineering functions and key interfaces including; Customers, Business Development, Technology, Manufacturing and other departments within a Design & Manufacturing business.o Desirable to have an understanding of flexible pipe systems and ancillary equipment design, handling equipment design and installation methods.o Thorough understanding of Finite Element Modeling techniques as well as classic fluid, hydrodynamic loadings, and solid mechanics to validate results.o Thorough understanding of design codes and regulatory standards, Such as API and NOV.o Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills are essential o Strong verbal, written, numerical and analytic skills, with the ability to present information to top management, clients or other peer groups.o Excellent team working spirito It is beneficial to have quality program experience: such as Six Sigma GB/BB, or Total Quality Management
