Job Title: Senior Internal Auditor, Asia Pacific

Reporting & Relationships

The position will report to the Internal Audit – Audit Manager, Asia Pacific.

The position will assist PPG’s Internal Audit efforts in the Asia region. The incumbent will help support training and development of the audit function and help drive productivity of the audit department and contribute to ensuring the quality and consistency of audit fieldwork.

Deliverables

Staff and Senior Auditors are responsible for the effective execution of a wide range of internal and Sarbanes-Oxley audits throughout the company. The incumbent participates in developing the initial audit plan and assumes full on-the-job responsibility for satisfactory completion of assigned audit tasks.

The incumbent will contribute to the completion of internal audits performed in the Asia region. This will include directly participating in fieldwork and performing direct audit procedures as part of an engagement team. Accountabilities include assisting audit teams to evaluate significant issues and identify further testing or compensating controls, ensuring quality work papers, completion of the audit plan scope, completion of a quality site report by the end of fieldwork, consistency of issues across audits, and effective communication with business management about the audit. (Approximately 40%)

The incumbent is also responsible for the effective execution of Sarbanes-Oxley audits throughout the region. The incumbent participates in developing the initial audit plan and assumes full on-the-job responsibility for satisfactory completion of assigned audits; including execution of audit programs, adjustment of the audit approach, supervision of audit team members, and communication of audit findings. It is expected that the incumbent will be able to direct a SOX review independently in the field (i.e. without the Field Supervisor being in the field). (40%)

The staff / senior auditors are also responsible to implement “continuous monitoring” activities. These are remote based audit activities that should be administered in the incumbent’s home base. In addition, we expect the incumbent to help develop Internal Auditing’s support “services”. This is activity that is intended to support regional and business unit finance managers. (20%).

Candidate Profile

For this function, the incumbent should be strong in the following core competencies:

· This position requires considerable analytical proficiency in order to properly evaluate the adequacy of controls and procedures.

· Effective writing skills are required to clearly and concisely communicate audit findings.

· Effective oral communication skills are essential as the incumbent must be able to communicate clearly, quickly, and persuasively. This work is normally carried out in a team environment working closely with peers and customers.

· Strong interpersonal skills, as well as the ability and desire to develop others.

· The ability to plan ahead and multi-task is critical.

· Considerable analytical proficiency is required along with business perspective.

This position requires a University degree in Business/Finance. Incumbent will have a minimum of two (staff position) or four (senior position) years of Auditing, accounting, or related business experience (required). Foreign language skills, and professional certification (CIA, CPA) are preferred.

Auditing, accounting, or related business experience and with strong IT background is required.

The position requires 60% - 80% travel to domestic and international locations. To assist the development of the incumbent, efforts will be made to have 1-2 assignments performed in a region other than Asia.
