职位描述
High level Position Purpose
Effectively and optimally manage capacity of the East & West China cluster in conjunction with regional capacity management and carrier management team of East & West Asia region, as well as with branches and overseas network to cater for ocean exports from East & West China to rest of the world, which ultimately supports the global core carrier strategy of Damco, reduces freight and operational costs, deliver required satisfaction to customers.

Damco NAS is the biggest region in the Damco global organization (in terms of staff 3000+ and in terms of impact on global bottomline). The countries covered by East & West Asia are: China and Hong Kong (grouped in 3 clusters) Taiwan, Japan and Korea.
The local operations team reports into the respective cluster/country manager, and as such the Ocean product management role is a functional role to ensure alignment and development in Ocean product and operational activities across NAS where needed.
The Ocean Product Development manager will report to Head of Ocean, East & West Asia Region and be part of the operational management team.
Responsibilities for the position
Effectively manage within the cluster the capacity acquired by the carrier management team to comply with the core carrier strategy of Damco
Stay close on top of the cluster’s capacity matters and engage in problem solving to avoid capacity failure
Ensure the integrity and timeliness of booking forecast for the cluster through close coordination with branch customer service and operations
Act as cluster capacity coordinator to ensure overflow and downfall among branches is managed through dynamic movements of allocation to achieve best optimization across the cluster
Give guidance, support and training to branches on capacity management matters as well as the effective use of FAB tool (booking / allocation tool)
Closely coordinate with regional capacity management / carrier management team and destination organizations to ensure clients’ requirements in capacity issues are fully and timely supported
Manage the cluster’s capacity in such a way that commitment made by Damco to customers is delivered to ultimately provide for customer satisfaction
Manage the cluster’s capacity in such a way that new business wins are catered for to facilitate and stabilize the on-boarding of new business
Provide inputs to the Regional Capacity Manager as to how the FAB tool can be enhanced which supports the initiatives of productivity improvement and expansion of volume scale
Develop and monitor KPIs for performance of branches in FAB tool
Requirements
At least 3-4 years of industry experience (NVOCC, Freight forwarding, Ocean forwarding)
Ability to work and thrive in a flexible matrix organisation with focus on networking and collaboration.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Team player with proven ability to work under pressure
Passion for service delivery and cost effectiveness – and for identifying how to constantly improve.
Ability to balance operational priorities with commercial imperatives.
Strong drive, initiative and engagement – ability to work self-directed and well organised.
China experience required
Good speaking and writing English communication skills; Putonghua essential
