Purpose:

To support overall costing performance of the LO through application of Global Apparel Costing process and standards, assuring company go-in margin targets are met by supporting Supplier Merchandising teams, and optimizing landed costs through a clear understanding of economic trends and trade opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

· Co-ordinate and monitor costing activities within the LO to ensure Creation Centers receive accurate information according to the costing calendar timelines

· Work closely with LO teams to identify and drive improvement in costing performance, efficiency and effectiveness of the T1 and support the Snr Costing Manager in ensuring that factory specific costing strategies are successfully implemented

· Support Merchandising teams in achieving brand margin targets through effective focus on all cost drivers to improve understanding of costs and positively impact margins

· Support improvement of global costing policies and procedures

· Build, manage and role out Costing Standards within LO to achieve a fact based, transparent and sustainable costing

· Provide input to economic trend information, including labor rates, inflation, exchange rates and government policy change, necessary to achieve best outcome in labor cost negotiation with suppliers.

· Train and support Merchandising teams and T1s in the understanding and application of cost drivers (e.g. Yield, Print, L&OH, etc) costing frameworks, policies and process, including application of consistent, accurate and transparent cost sheets

· Strong understanding of all components affecting landed cost calculation including relevant duty rates by selling region and awareness of trade agreements relevant to production region

· Lead and manage communication of LO costing reports at key development milestones

· Support the Snr Costing Manger to ensure that the LO strategic costing imperatives are met

· Support the Head of Manufacturing Excellence on all process improvement initiatives that impact product cost, efficiency and overheads (example: aMD, Engineer to Cost, GASA, Lean, etc))

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

· Strong understanding of costing systems, policies and processes

· Solid analytical and systematic approach to consolidating and communicating information

· Demonstrated ability to lead virtual team in order to achieve targets in an effective way

· Strong presentation, communication, negotiation, and strong analytical (MS Excel) skills

· Strong understanding of country, regional and global cost drivers – specific to the apparel industry

· Good understanding of both domestic and international apparel operations

· Fluency in English

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree, or technical degree with major focus in apparel textile or manufacturing

· At least 4 years of progressive experience in the apparel industry with costing/merchandising responsibility
