Global Risk

Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

HBCN Security and Fraud Risk (SFR) is a Risk function for leading the country's works to identify, assess, monitor and take timely actions to protect employees, customers, assets, information, and HBCN's reputation from real and potential threats by either accidental or premeditated means. The role holder works with the SFR team to effectively deliver security and contingency risk management services to HBCN departments and branches across China. The role holder will be accountable to Head of SFR for implementing relevant practices and policies in HBCN and reporting major incidents. The role holder also provides strong oversight over internal control and regulatory compliance matters relating to security and contingency risks.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Senior Security and Contingency Risk Manager, Security and Fraud Risk HBCN.

In this role, you will:

·Deputise for Head of Security and Fraud Risk as required.

·Act as the coordinator of the Major Incident Group (MIG or formerly known as FCC) to manage arising major incidents or crises to contain risks to the safety of people and/or to the continuity of the businesses.

·Ensure that HBCN's MIG structure is at a high degree of readiness and responsibilities well understood by MIG members.

·Plan, direct and monitor the HBCN business continuity program. This includes meeting regulatory and Group Standards for contingency risk and crisis management, ensuring that priorities for all BRP teams are valid, and maintaining critical recovery planning information.

·Ensure that the readiness of designated alternate sites that meet businesses' contingency / recovery needs.

·Manage operational security services including security systems operation and maintenance, the 24/7 control rooms, cash-in-transit security, and guarding services to support the smooth operation of HBCN businesses.

·Support management of major events by managing the delivery of commensurate, cost effective event security services

·Identify, evaluate and interpret emerging pertinent risk issues including regulatory changes; develop and implement effective mitigating strategies & actions.

·Support the HBCN aggressive network expansion program by leading to address pertinent security and contingency risk and regulatory issues.

·Support vendor management by ensuring that identified security and contingency risks pertinent to vendors' services to HBCN are appropriately mitigated.

·Manage cars and drivers at headquarters to deliver quality transportation service to senior management.

·As the country's subject matter expert, provide internal customers with needed advices and consultation services.

·Conduct risk assessment with recommendations to mitigate pertinent risks for the businesses.

·Strengthen the understanding of pertinent risks by incorporating risk considerations and mitigating measures in HBCN’s business activities undertaken to enhance shareholder value.

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

·Bachelor's degree or above (recognized by the state).

·Certified security and/or BCM professional accreditations a definite advantage.

·Demonstrable experience in security or contingency risk management.

·Strong risk management and/or operations background with at least 5 years of experience at managerial levels.

·Good knowledge of the China operating environment: regulatory, social, geographic, demographic etc.

·Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across HBCN and to develop rapport with internal and external stake-holders.

·Ability to stay calm and prioritize under time pressure in contingency situations.

·Proficiency in Mandarin and English, spoken and written, a must.

·Sound experience in budget and cost management.

·High level of drive and motivation to ensure delivery of a range of services simultaneously.

·Excellent understanding of and experience in implementing operational risk and regulatory compliance frameworks.
