Role Summary/Purpose
The China Compliance Leader leads projects and initiatives with broad scope and high impact to the business in the region andor is a recognized expert in a specialized fields. In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within areas of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy.

Essential Responsibilities
· Provide compliance leadership / oversight to business operations in China to assure adherence to all aspects of government / company, legal and regulatory compliance. · In coordination with business leaders and Legal Counsel, proactively monitor and analyze compliance risks and corrective action plans. · Provide crucial support and expertise to the Aviation wide Compliance and Legal community · Drive collaboration of Compliance Representatives and Ombuds leaders in country through leadership and mentoring to create a compliance community working together to maintain a China focused compliance culture. · Lead in country processes such as Compliance Review Board, Session D and Compliance Operating Reviews aimed at providing a robust forum for risk identification and mitigation; launch Session D tools including eCPA and employee surveys. · Develop communication programs to support senior leaders in delivering the message that nothing is more important to GE than compliance and keeping this message prevalent throughout the business. · Drive a business owned compliance culture by providing advice and support on developing a compliant business environment. · Ensure that all employees in country are aware of the Spirit & Letter policies, understand their legal obligations under those policies and understand the role an Ombuds leader in helping them to meet those obligations · Develop a compliance training strategy in co-operation with business leaders, which identifies the compliance competencies required for every role, develops relevant training material and assesses the competency level for all employees on an on-going basis. Provide in person training when the need is identified as part of the overall strategy.

Qualifications/Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.· At least 5 additional years experience in a compliance /regulatory role or in a process oriented role in which compliance/ regulatory had a heavy emphasis.· Fluent Mandarin speaker

Desired Characteristics
· At least 3 years of experience in transactional or contractual law with proficiency in risk mitigation and negotiating.· Working knowledge of the local legislation, legal regulations and industry codes.· Ability to create a vision and developing strategies to implement the vision.· Able to work a clear and measurable set of deliverables using own initiative.· Established project management and prioritization skills; ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities. · Strong oral and written communications skills. · Strong influencing, interpersonal and leadership skills.· Self-motivated and independent manager.
