JOB TITLE: Rubber Chemist
LOCATION: Shandong Jining
FACILITY: VTIC Asia Testing Center
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Conduct various testing of raw materials and finished rubber products. Provide technical support to customers, compounders, QA and the commercial organization.
REPORTING LINE: Testing Center Manager
YEARS EXPERIENCE: 2 plus years in similar role

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:
? Operation of various instrumentation including, but not limited to, TGA, FTIR, GC/MS, HPLC and “wet chemical” testing.
? Exercise strong analytical problem-solving skills for qualitative or quantitative analyses, or both
? The Chemist will write Standard Operating Procedures and interpret test data
? Generate a quality technical report in a timely fashion and present test results to customers
? Perform test investigation if a need arises to find out root causes and propose corrective actions
? Complete and maintain lab certifications
? Monitor laboratory activities utilizing trending reports and production summaries
? Maintain an appropriate relationship with customers, representing Veyance Technologies, Inc. in a positive manner

DESIRED BACKGROUND / TRAINING / SKILLS:
? The candidate, along with wet chemical testing expertise, should have hands on experience in GC, HPLC, FTIR and TGA analysis; mass spectroscopy experience
? The candidate should be detail oriented and have solid knowledge about analytical chemistry, method validation, and qualitative/quantitative analysis
? Candidates must think logically and be able to identify root cause and propose corrective actions if there is a test problem
? Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment of domestic and international associates
? A highly motivated, self-starter with a positive attitude is a definite plus

REQUIRED EDUCATION / TRAINING / SKILLS:
? BS in Chemistry (Analytical MS or Ph.D. preferred)
? 2+ years of experience in an industrial chemistry lab with rubber / rubber chemical testing experience
? This position requires oral and written communication skills in both English and Chinese
? Fluency in Microsoft Office applications
