About Advisory
Our Advisory practice, further divided into Consulting and Deals, has grown in size, scope and scale. Today, our clients engage us to help solve their strategic and day-to-day problems. We do this by creating unique, value-added solutions based on the combination of industry knowledge, subject matter expertise in Consulting and Deals, and our collective experience from all areas of PwC. We help clients implement their business strategies by working with them to: build effective organizations, innovate and grow, reduce costs, manage crisis, manage risk and navigate regulation, maximize the potential of human resources, execute better deals, and restructure troubled businesses.
Responsibilities:
1. Employee Orientation
- Assist in the orientation of new employees to the firm;
2. Performance Review and Management
- Assist partners/ managers to ensure that the annual counseling and performance review process provides honest, timely and comprehensive feedback to staff;
- Work with partners and managers on coaching staff throughout the year; especially those identified through the annual counseling process as being poor performers;
- Work with partners and managers to retain quality staff members throughout the year; especially those identified through the annual counseling process as being high achievers;
3. Annual Remuneration Review and Promotion Process Management
- Advertise the process and timetable;
- Follow up at key milestones to ensure that the process has been completed;
- Work with partners individually to differentiate performance levels among their staff;
- Work with partners collectively to moderate performance ratings so that business units/ divisions, line of service and the firm can achieve the required performance distribution that enables affordable performance recognition;
- Work with partners to identify staff who are eligible for the annual and exceptional mid-year promotion reviews where promotion is justified based on experience, skills and performance with higher level role requirements and their peers;
4. Employee Counseling
- Provide guidance to employees on an individual basis as required;
- Refer employees for professional counseling services e.g. employee assistance programme as required;
5. Exit Interviews
- Carry out exit interviews of departing staff and maintain data so that the firm learns from staff experience in order to minimize future turnover.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Commerce or Social Sciences;
- One to three years of general HR experience, preferably in a service or multinational corporation environment;
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills;
- Strong negotiation, influencing and consultative skills with an ability to build strong client relationships;
- Strong client service focus at all levels of the role with demonstrated resourcefulness, initiative and flexibility;
- A high level of discretion and confidentiality at all levels of the role;
- A proven ability to handle pressure and manage conflicting demands; and
- A "can do" attitude along with enthusiasm and energy.
