Our client is a large European Furniture company (2000+ people) with increasing business activities in China.
Responsibilities:
1,Company’ purchasing work takes places in a category-based organisation, with the aim of making improvements through increased specialisation, efficiency and utilisation of scale benefits.
The Senior Engineer is responsible for ensuring that the start up and the running production of goods functions as intended, and that implementation of new products is carried out in accordance with the procedures and requirements that are in place.
The work is independent and has the aim of actively contributing to achieving the objectives set within the department and the company within the framework of Company’ purchasing strategy, process and other guidelines and procedures for the purchasing operation.
2. Principal job assignments
-
- Responsible that supplier appraisals are carried out according to procedures and processes.
- Responsible for implementing new products in accordance with the procedures and requirements that exist within Company
- Responsible that product modifications and phasing-out of products follows established routines
- Responsible that supplier evaluations are carried out according to applicable procedures
- Analyse and investigate quality control issues related to products and components purchased
- Ensure that there is compliance with documentation and set requirements

- Responsible that results are achieved in accordance with the targets that are set for the department within the area of responsibility
- Find new suppliers that contributes to Company purchasing goals
- Lead cost-cutting projects in close cooperation with Purchaser
- Follow up and initiate activities that lead to the objectives being met

3. Skills required
Education
- Primarily academic education relevant to the position, preferably specialising in purchasing, or alternatively experience within the field
General expertise
-
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Good commercial sense

- Good IT skills
Specialist expertise
- Experience of production engineering
- Experience of supply chain
- Relevant knowledge within appropriate categories
- Experience of Quality operations within the manufacturing industry with own development processes
Personal qualities
- High multitasking capacity
- High stress threshold
- High level of social skills and very good communication ability
- Analytical, strategic and structured approach
- High level of integrity, precision and determination
