Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager China compliance will carry out client facing business development activities using the key account management and sales processes to ensure the planned results are achieved in line with strategic and financial objectives for the region in the upstream and downstream sectors including:
? Develop and maintain potential and existing key client relationships
? Identify developing key clients and predict future business levels
? Produce, own and ensure client relationship management plans are fully developed, promoted and maintained with specified clients using a multi-level approach
? Support customer relationship building through the provision of client intelligence such as business strategy, company structure, hierarchy and identify the decision makers and influencers
? Identify new business opportunities with key clients
? Produce selling plans for large single sales opportunities and effectively own and manage the opportunity through the lifecycle to achieve success whilst ensuring all the relevant stakeholders participate and are engaged appropriately at each stage
? Engage senior Group business managers and directors to ensure high-level and strategic relationships with key accounts and clients are managed and maintained
? Achieve agreed sales targets to protect and grow key clients
? Identify service improvement / development requirements with key clients
? Promote and communicate LR products and services to key clients directly and arrange appropriate visits
? Support and represent Lloyd’s Register at client and industry events, local seminars and presentations as required
? Ensure client penetration is achieved through selling our full range of professional products and services
? Use the CRM system database to generate sales pipeline, forecasting and reports
? Support colleagues who are responsible for managing other client relationships that can potentially leverage and build upon existing relationships
? Liaise with the Bids and Proposals team as appropriate through the sales process
? Contribute and carry out proposal preparation and presentations
Directly liaise / negotiate with clients as appropriate to win business
Requirements
? Detailed knowledge and experience working within business development and client management in this market sector.
? Engineering and / or business qualification combined with a minimum of five years in a senior business development and client facing role and will ideally have an established profile within the industry.
Key attributes should include:
? Personable, ability to demonstrate understanding of client relationship management, familiarity with Miller Heiman (or similar) methodologies relating to strategic key accounts and selling would be desirable.
? An existing network of influential relationships, ability to penetrate and diversify service offering within existing clients
? Proven knowledge of the offshore and onshore market
? Strong commercial awareness based on the analysis and interpretation of financial and non-financial information and the intellectual dexterity to use this in business decision making
? Knowledge of commercial negotiation practices and proven ability to market and sell services
? Good general knowledge of sector specific and industry wide business issues
? Excellent communication skills with colleagues and clients at all levels
? Confident presenter
? Excellent proficiency in English and a proven ability to work effectively and professionally across different cultural environments.
? Self motivated
? Team player and willingness to travel
