As Senior Vendor Manager - Beauty, you will be part of the Beauty Team of Amazon China, one of the leading online shopping platforms based in Beijing. Beauty is currently comprised of these categories: Face care, Hair care, men’s grooming, make up, fragrance, body care, eye and lips care, beauty tools and foods, and all the business are rapidly expanding. Joining the Amazon beauty team means partnering with a dynamic and creative group who set a high bar for innovation and success in a fast-paced and changing environment.

We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, hard-working and creative candidate to join our Beauty team. Our mission is to create a best-in-class store where customers will discover, research and buy from the largest selection of genuine and high-quality products in China.

Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Vendor Manager will be responsible for managing a set of categories within Beauty (including reporting, driving unit, revenue and margin growth, and executing promotions) independently, negotiating direct relationships with key prestige and famous mass brands, driving incremental selection in the beauty store, and working with stakeholder teams to deliver a best-in-class customer experience that will result in category leadership in the online market segment.

The Senior Vendor Manager is expected to be able to manage the vendors and complex negotiations, and, execute with little direction from Senior Management.

Specifically, their responsibilities include but are not limited to:
? Managing purchase activities in a cost effective and timely manner.
? Driving cost-analysis and volume planning for all vendors in focused product lines.
? The Senior Vendor Manager serves as the primary point of contact with larger vendors, taking initiatives to come up with business enhancements, managing key contracts and pricing.
? Monitoring the movement of stock, and is responsible for overseeing replenishment.
? Setting strategic direction and business planning independently for the focused product lines
? Managing the critical negotiations and pushing for margins
? Leading project management and promotional planning.
? The Senior Vendor Manager must be able to dive deep the business analysis with effective tools adoption.


Basic Requirements:

We expect the Senior Vendor Manager to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven ability to negotiate complex business terms, develop and manage relationships, have strong influence to both internal and external stakeholders, drive results and demonstrate competency with business and financial analytics. The Senior Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator in working with some of Amazon’s most important partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail, a high level of flexibility and commitment.

? This position requires a minimum of a BA/BS. Preferably, in a quantitatively-oriented field such as Business management, Finance management, Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science, Information system or Mathematics from a top academic university.
? 7+ years of professional working experience of successful track records in buying, account management, product management, project management, and/or financial analysis areas.
? 2+ years negotiation experience
? Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results.
? Solid capabilities in effective communication/negotiation
? Proven analytical skills and highly numerate, good at Excel and other analysis related tools
? Ability to think both strategically and tactically with strong attention to detail
? Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage multiple projects - prioritization, planning and task delegation
? Proficiency in oral and written English is highly expected.

Preferred Qualifications:

? Strong database skills, good in system/tools adoption.
? 3+ years of retail and/or e-commerce experience is preferred
? Knowledge and/or previous experience within the beauty industry preferred
? MBA background is nice to have.
