Human Resource Supervisor

1. GENERAL SUMMARY:
Design, develop, implement, and administer human resource policies, procedures, and practices in assigned area.
Responsibilities include one or more human resource functions such as employee relations, benefits, compensation, recruiting, training and development, equal opportunity, internal communications, or other assigned human resource function. May act as a consultant to organization units to accomplish corporate objectives.
2. PRIMARY FUNCTION/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
a. Provide advice and counsel to employees and all levels of management regarding human resource policies, procedures, and programs within assigned area. Issues are often of the most sensitive and complex nature.
b. Conduct sophisticated research and develop solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
c. Determine and develop projects and programs; implement and administer these projects and programs.
d. Initiate special studies and develop measurement tools to aide management in the consistent and equitable application of human resource guidelines.
e. May supervise other employees.
f. Perform other related duties as assigned.
3. JOB COMPLEXITY:
Determine own practices and procedures under minimal supervision.
Exercise considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignments.
Encounter new and varied work situations of high complexity.
Errors in judgment may adversely affect employee relations, Company image, or seriously impact goals critical to major objectives of the organization.
Inside and outside contacts made at all levels.
4. SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS REQUIRED:
Complete understanding and application of human resource principles, concepts, practices, and procedures.
Full knowledge of related industry practices.
Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical, and organizational skills.
5. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years human resource experience or equivalent combination of related education and experience.
