Reports to: Director, Strategic Sourcing Greater China

  

OVERVIEW:  

Plan, direct, and monitor all procurement activities so that the goods, materials, supplies, and services the organization buys meet its standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of supply. Scope of responsibility up to $300 million USD.

     

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Other duties may be assigned beyond the core functions listed below.

               1            30%            Establish and implement strategies for    negotiating commodity purchase agreements based on in-depth knowledge of    foreign and domestic markets for optimum pricing and terms.  Manage and    lead efforts on cost savings and working capital contribution initiatives in    line with a profit plan and overall business objectives.                     2            20%            Lead negotiation for the assigned portfolio of    spending categories.  Usage of cost models to validate commodity    strategies and to understand significant cost drivers.  Acquire and    maintain understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends, and    supplier technology road maps.                

  3            20%            Manage supply base by establishing and    maintaining measurable performance metrics for all of procurement to ensure    total cost.  Mitigate price increases and find alternate supply base.               

  4            20%            Act as project manager (develop, manage, and    implement) for cross functional teams to build stakeholder alignment    (Technical, R&D, Sales & Marketing, Operation,    Regional and local teams, etc.) to meet objectives.                  5            10%            Contract management – review to ensure    specific requirements are present, appropriate review and signing authority    is present.             

    

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    

    

Functions as an individual contributor with no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    

• 5 + years of indirect purchasing experience
• Minimum of BA/BS Degree with a business and/or technical major
• Experience as a change agent in an organization
• Analytical and project management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate across functional and multicultural lines. Strong at English communication.
• Collaboration and influence management skills
• Demonstrated business acumen
• Strong proficiency with all Microsoft and MRP/Supply Chain systems
• Preference will be given to candidates with past purchasing experience on automotive resale market
• Prefer the candidates with experience of supplier quality management

    

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to travel up to 30% of time
