JOB PURPOSE:

The PFEP engineer is responsible for packaging design and improvement under Caterpillar packaging guideline and process, and data analysis, communicate to team members and suppliers. Warehouse layout and product loading design and optimize. This is a Supply Chain Planning position.

JOB DUTIES:

1. Population of the Plan for Every Part:
? Confirm and optimize inbound materials’ package to make the best utilization and high efficiency of transportation.
? Design and implement returnable packaging plan to reduce material cost.
? Determine replenishment method and path, ensure the POU availability with high efficiency of every part.
? Set up and make continuous improvement as a process owner of PFEP process.
? Design and optimize packaging, SWES and loading plan for IKD product.
? Improve container utilization by previous loading standard optimization.
2. Determine & implementation of Pull Strategy
? Be responsible to evaluate and set up pull strategy.
? Ensure through pull replenishment, to reduce inventory, manage variability, optimize material flow, increase supply efficiency in whole supply chain.
? Supplier collaboration – working with suppliers to agree on replenishment method, fixed build sequence, order multiples and reduce response time.
3. WH Layout and efficiency improvement
? Optimize WH layout and material presentation at the point of use by Auto CAD.
? Improve WH efficiency and deploy standard processes to control.
? Support to optimize barcode labeling, ASN compliance etc.
4. Operation daily support
? Provide PFEP functional support for NPI, ECN and deviation.
? Resolve safety and / or quality issues caused by current packaging
? Resolve package related issues reported by employee,3PL or carriers
5. Other jobs assigned by supervisor


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

1. College or university degree, preferably in Supply Chain and/or Packaging or Industrial Engineering
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
3. Strong understanding of common supply chain systems.
4. Leadership skills to effectively lead supply chain improvements
5. Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, organization, and communication skills
6. Good English skill on Read/Write/Speak
7. Good skill on automatic office software Like: Microsoft Office, CAD, PROE and Tableau.


BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

1. Thorough understanding of company policies and procedures
2. Experience in Packaging Design, Material Requirements Planning or PFEP is highly desired.
3. Solid generator product and manufacturing knowledge
4. Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible supply chain or packaging job experience
