Purpose of the position    

Chief Engineer, eMobility will drive the development of an electrification platform that serves the needs of our future generation machines. The position is within the Technology function in the Kalmar Mobile Solutions business unit (KAMOS). The platform development will be done based on the customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to business strategies. The Chief Engineer, eMobility will develop and lead the eMobility team in Shanghai.

    

Education
● Education level needs to be a Master of Science in electrical engineering or similar knowledge.

Experience

● At least 8-10 years of working experience, preferably in a global organisation
● Sound technical knowledge regarding material handling equipment or similar heavy machines.
● Experience of product development activities.
● Experiences from similar tasks are qualifying.
● Experiences regarding other Kalmar products are qualifying Competencies
● System level understanding and capability to design solutions
● eMobility related legislation and regulation
● Technologies: high-voltage electric solutions, batteries, battery management systems, thermal management, traction (e-motors, inverters, gears), electro-hydraulics, charging systems, vehicle control systems etc.
● High level of planning skills is important.
● Business- and market mindset
● Good leadership and management capabilities.
● Ability to motivate and inspire people and build trust.
● Basic commercial- and business knowledge.
● Good communication skills are important.
● Should be energetic, have a good driving force and be result oriented.
● Problem solver.
● Positive attitude.
● Fluent in the local language and English both in speaking and writing.

    Key Accountabilities    

● Lead the development of the next generation electrification platform
● Assess the eMobility suppliers from technology perspective and support the
selection of key suppliers for the platform
● Explore, test and validate modules and systems for the electrification platform
● Develop and maintain the eMobility platform roadmap
● Technical responsibility of the eMobility platform
● Responsible for planning and performing design activities and development projects to agreed costs, and deliveries according to time schedule requirements
● Lead assigned projects
● Responsibility of meeting product safety and legislation requirements and internal demands for the platform
● Design documentation including approvals and applicable risk analysis
● Work for platform commonality within the KAMOS business unit, in collaboration with the R&D teams, Operations and Sourcing
● In charge of budget, actual cost and forecast for own area of operation
● Lead and manage the local eMobility team
