Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

?To provide expert consultancy and technical leadership for Lean Sigma implementations within GMS in support of GMS requirements for rapid and sustained improvement in business performance.
?Develop Lean Leader capability across GMS (e.g. Site Directors, OE Champions, Cluster Heads, Functional Heads etc) through training, coaching and mentoring in key Lean Sigma methodologies (e.g. Policy Deployment, Performance Management and Problem Solving)
?Provide hands-on specialist Lean Sigma consultancy support to key business improvement programs within GMS through focused interventions (i.e. Diagnostic and Re-design activities)
?Support Cluster Leads and Global Logistics in the establishment of Value Stream thinking and ways of working across key value streams within GMS
?Support, coach and mentor Cluster Heads, Site Directors, OE Champions, other OE Consultants, Master Black Belts/Black Belts and other GMS Lean Sigma practitioners in Lean Sigma operational solutions and their application.
? Reinforce and champion the implementation of Lean Sigma solutions, processes and practices across GMS.
?Support the development and execution of an overall framework for effective knowledge capture and sharing of Lean Sigma manufacturing solutions across GMS sites and functions
? To encourage and actively support the application of Lean Sigma solutions within GMS sites and function
?Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the key challenges / issues facing GMS supply sites and also key central functions with a view to proactive use of Lean Sigma tools/expertise to support required improvement in business performance.
?Proactive and targeted hands-on use of Lean Sigma solutions to drive critical business performance improvements.
?Scanning of the external business environment with view to identification of Lean Sigma solutions, tools and techniques which have application within GMS
?Working with BAC’s to develop and support deployment of Lean Sigma solutions which add value in the performance improvement journey of GMS. Assist with propagation of these solutions across GMS
?Support, coach and mentor Cluster Heads, Site Directors, OE Champions, OE consultants, Master Black Belts, Black Belts and other Lean Sigma practitioners in Lean Sigma applications, tools and techniques.
?In support of GMS requirement for rapid improvement in operational performance, ensure learning from Lean Sigma implementations and key activities of Lean Sigma practitioners across GMS is captured and disseminated in an appropriate format
?Support in the identification, design, development and delivery (within the OE training plans) of Lean Sigma training at all levels
?Plan services and projects on, usually, an up to 24 month timescale within overall business direction
? Matrix Working: influencing through relationships across GMS OE Consultants and Senior Managers
? Will support, advise, coach and mentor Qualified Trainers
?Will support, advise, coach and mentor Cluster Heads, Site Directors, OE Champions in order to deliver business benefit to GMS
?Will provide Lean Sigma support to projects and activities within Central OE
?Financial consequences/value of work undertaken to GSK may be very significant if related in terms of profit contribution, particularly with reference to regulatory requirements
?Key relationships are with Cluster Heads, Site Directors, OE Champions, OE consultants and Lean Sigma practitioners (both at site and above site level) and site OE teams.

Qualifications/Requirements: (Education / Experience / Competencies)

? Leadership, coaching and mentoring of Lean Sigma
? Identification of opportunities for business benefit from applying Lean Sigma process and practices
? Specification, leadership and execution of Lean Sigma projects that lead to business benefit
? Significant operational leadership experience
?Long and broad experience of applying Lean Sigma solutions within Pharmaceutical (or similar industry sector) Operations.
? Wide experience in the specification, design and execution of Lean Sigma manufacturing training
?Master Black or Black Belt accreditation coupled with extensive practical experience within the Pharmaceutical industry or other related manufacturing industry sectors.
?A level of business acumen and experience that quickly gains credibility and influence amongst all key stakeholders up to SVP level
?Proven ability to drive rapid business performance improvement through technical capability, project management skills and change management skills.
