职位描述

Position Summary: Lead the implementation of quality strategy and objectives within the defined area of scope for a core quality area(s). This includes internal/external relationship management, value creation/optimization, product risk mitigation & minimization, quality leadership and strategy development, budget/ resource allocation, talent management, and transparent communication of quality performance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Lead the implementation of a customer-centric quality culture, execution excellence and continuous improvement. Hold the Quality team accountable for implementing and enforcing quality services, including assurance, quality control (this will vary by business/region), quality system, and quality improvement services. Accountable for translating the quality strategy and objectives into tactical operational deliverables, which includes
1. Implementing and enforcing Quality goals and objectives in direct support of the business goals and objectives.
2. Provide Quality leadership to the site in cross-functional product development and scale up with quality planning & verification prior to production for new formulas
3. Ensuring measurement system reliability, and
4. Monitoring product, process, and system performance, and actively driving improvement to mitigate / minimize risks for customers & Valspar.
Manage the quality system and lead the organization to define / refine / deploy effective policies and procedures into the all appropriate work areas, engaging the workforce to ensure these are followed to deliver consistent, high quality products and services for our served customers, market and community. Accountable for product quality risk management with effective containment, corrective, preventive, and systemic actions to prevent recurrence within the site(s), including sharing and implementing best practices.

Lead the COPQ reduction program with the site(s) P&L leader as the sponsor, and run the steering committee with line management and cross-functional leadership to build and manage the project portfolio based on analytics/reports and recommendations from historical data and risk analysis (internal defects, customer/market feedback, supplier performance, employee feedback, etc.).Work with the accountability leaders to scope the projects and drive focused execution to achieve near term results and toward longer-term quality performance entitlement. Provides direct oversight to ongoing initiatives and programs, reports to appropriate stakeholders, and is accountable for outcomes along with assigned P&L Leader.

Act as the subject matter expert on cross-functional, complex project teams and/or quality committees. Integrate principles, concepts, and share practices of multiple technical disciplines to create a zero defect culture. Continually build quality capabilities beyond current expertise and scope. Provide functional expertise and leadership to the site(s) in the following service areas:
? Safeguarding services: quality system management, risk management: internal product, and external product, quality incident management and internal audit management
? Cost containment service: cost of quality management, productivity improvement leadership (cost of poor quality / quality excellence initiative), quality methods and tools management, benchmarking and best practice sharing.
? Product differentiation services: voice of Customer translation & validation, customer requirement verification in line with new product / formula introduction and associated management of change, total customer experience monitoring, customer feedback analysis and connect to Valtrack to address, customer insight feedback loop management, and customer issue resolution. Assist leadership in developing and implementing an overall manufacturing strategy to achieve entitlement quality performance.
? Training & consulting services: internal change facilitation and quality consulting and training to develop quality capability in the workforce to deliver business results for quality organization and beyond.
This will vary based on scope of the role. Supervise/Coach the plant Quality Manager within the assigned Business Units in an ISO and CI/Lean Six Sigma environment; ensure implementation of an integrated talent management program to attract, train, and develop the Quality functional team and to ensure optimum level of workforce engagement. Accountable for the quality budget within defined area of scope.

1. FORMAL EDUCATION: (GENERALLY, IF RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IS ACCEPTABLE, THE CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THREE YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE FOR EVERY ONE YEAR OF COLLEGE EDUCATION REQUIRED)
? B.S. or equivalent required. Engineering, Chemical, Operations Management or other technical related field preferred.
? Certification or licensure within a quality program or body of knowledge is preferred.

2. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
? 2 - 5 years of progressive experience within the manufacturing industry. 5 - 8 years of experience in regulated environment, a plus.
? Problem solving & process improvement Experience: 2 - 5+ years with industry recognized methods (i.e, Six Sigma, BPI, BPR, Lean, TQM, SPC/SQC, 8D, MSA, RedX, etc.)
? Continuous improvement certificate preferred
