Position Overview:
The position of Trade Compliance Manager Asia will be responsible for overseeing and leading all trade compliance issues for the Heilind Asia Pacific businesses in accordance with all applicable U.S. and non-U.S. laws and regulations.

Position Responsibilities:

• Develops practical solutions to trade issues relevant to our business
• Identifies and resolves trade related issues/risks in the region
• Develops, implements, and maintains trade processes and procedures for the region
• Manages the Import/Export Compliance and Customs compliance requirements for Heilind Asia businesses
• Stays informed and engaged with Customs and related agencies laws and practices within Customs ports of China, as well as Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, South Korea, and Vietnam
• Conducts regular reviews of import and export processes, brokers, and compliance activities
• Provides leadership & support to various internal departments for compliance related matters
• Identifies and reviews controlled or restricted transactions, conducts denied party screening, screens for embargoes, sanctions, and applicable trade regulations
• Develops and delivers training with respect to the relevant trade compliance regulations
• Supports integration efforts for migration, development, testing, and implementation of automated Compliance solutions and internal tariff engine data
• Determines and obtain the necessary export / import licenses, agreements, permits, certifications, and/or technology release determinations based on transaction reviews

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with relevant experience, or comparable working experience in Trade Compliance (min 8 years' international trade compliance experience required)
• Expert knowledge of import and export regulations across the APAC region
• Direct experience implementing trade controls policies and procedures with working knowledge of China Customs requirements
• Knowledge of related trade compliance regulations, including OFAC sanctions and China Controlled Goods Program
• Excellent Interpersonal, communication, and writing skills, including ability to interact productively with all levels across the company
• Self-motivated, proactive approach with strong analytical skills
• Strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Business fluent in English
• Candidate with less experience will be considered as Trade Compliance Specialist
