About the role:

    

A fantastic opportunity to be a part of a leading Facilities Management and Real Estate business in Greater China representing our client who is a global Wealth Management and Investment bank. If you are a seasoned Engineering Manager who wants to make a mark and takes pride in contributing to exceptional facilities operations and presentation standards then this is the role for you!

    

As the Engineering Manager you will report into China Engineering Lead and working in partnership with the JLL Facilities Management Team and our client who are responsible for operation, maintenance, incident management, vendor management, and event planning associated with all the Data Centres (including colocation site), technical facilities and offices located in Beijing.

    

You will be the SME and follow the governance guidance and established practices and procedures to manage the associated properties and ensure effective risk management is applied at all times.

    


What this job involves:

    

· Operate, maintain, and manage the routine and emergency services on a variety of building facilities and mission-critical infrastructure such as heating, ventilation, air conditioning, electrical power distribution, UPS, generator, chillers, cooling towers, computer room air handlers, fire protection system, and monitoring & control system.

    

· Planning and supervision of all works and monitoring achievements, including vendor management, ensuring compliance with OH&S requirements, security requirements, approved work method statements and relevant corporate policies and procedures.

    

· Ensure all key performance indicators are comprehensively documented, tracked and reported in accordance with corporate governance.

    

· Maintenance contracts management pertaining to Building Services & Mission-Critical Facilities.

    

· Work with cross functions and other business leaders to coordinate projects, manage capacity, and continuously optimize mission-critical facilities safety, reliability and efficiency.

    

· Responsible in the training and/or development of team members.

    

· Assist in strategic planning projects and responsible for Capital projects execution as local owner.

    

· Assist in the design and build out of new facilities within office and data centers.

    

· Assist in preparation of Annual Capital Budgets and Operational Expense Planning.

    

· Assist in recruitment effort.Support other locations in China when required.

    

    


Sound like you? To apply you will have:

    

To be considered for this position, you will have electrical or mechanical engineering qualifications, direct experience in managing significant assets including commercial office environment as well as data centres. You will have at least 10 years experiences in an equivalent role and/or Facilities/Engineering Manager and have effective communication skills, holds strong team ethics and high proficiency in managing direct and indirect staff as well as critical owner and contractor relationships.

    

· In-depth experience in handling critical incidents and maintenance in data center environment specific to banking industry is highly preferred.

    

· Demonstrated managerial experience in previous roles.

    

· Experience and deep understanding with change management, incident management, vendor management, asset management (critical equipment and spares).

    

· Ability to write, review, and improve documents such as standard operating procedures, methods of procedure, and emergency operating procedures, root cause analysis, technical proposals, etc.

    

· Strong attention to detail and be able to proactively identify and propose solution or risk mitigation plan.

    

· Proven track record in administration of projects in data center build/upgrade or office fit-out.

    

· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under own initiatives and interact with internal and external teams.

    

· Client-oriented with a strong degree of integrity, discretion and customer focus.

    

· Strong communication skills in spoken and written Mandarin.

    

· English proficiency (reading and writing) at a level that enables daily tasks without trouble.

    

· Flexible approach to working hours and available for 24 hours emergency calls.
