SUMMARY

Take the major responsibility for leading the electronics & system integration design for Server, Storage, and other datacenter elements. Provide necessary inputs to generic designers and validation engineers for design quality assurance. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within Jabil Circuit by harnessing new testing technologies and methodologies. Provide exceptional support to external and internal customers, team members, and other persons through technical project coordination.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to the following:

-Technical Lead

-Will represent Jabil Design Services in technical customer discussions / meetings.

-Provide technical input to help identify and solve project risks that may affect overall project plans and schedules.

-Product design covering the whole development cycle inc. schematics, simulation, High-speed layout guidelines, validation and NPI support for product introduction to manufacturing

-Generate PCB routing guidelines; work with PCB engineer during Critical part placement & routing

-Sourcing of alternative functional blocks for compatibility and cost effectiveness and benchmarking of these functional blocks, Create BOM & AVL, assist SCM to pick strategic vendors & parts to meet design goals

-Prototype bring-up & assist EVT & DVT builds for design related issues

-Support the System validation as well as SPIT (Signal, Power, and Integrity & Timing) measurements

-System level debug and root cause analysis

-End of life re-design, New vendor qualification, and Design related issues found in Manufacturing or Field

-Speed bump increases to Memory, CPU and other critical system components

-Work with mechanical. Software, Firmware & BIOS teams to support new features & debug

Person Background:

-Candidates should have experience in Server or Storage System design

-Typically, the following essential qualifications and experiences would be requested:

-Bachelor or Master in Electronics, computing, engineering or similar

-Good English speaking and literacy

-Working knowledge of Intel, AMD, Broadcom, Microsemi, LSI, Qlogic, Emulex, Mellanox etc Servers & Storage class chipsets

-Working knowledge of windows & Linux configuration, installation procedure, network configuration, driver configuration etc

-Working knowledge of ACPI, IPMI 1.5 & 2.0

-Hands-on design knowledge of latest peripheral chipsets for Gigabit and 10G Ethernet, Converged Network Controllers, USB3.0, 1394, Fiber Channel, Infiniband, SAS/SATA & PCI-e cards etc

-Hands-on design knowledge of high performance x86 CPUs and architectures inc. Intel Skylake-SP, Icelake, AMD Naples & Rome

-Strong electrical design and debug skills, timing measurement and integrity.

-In addition, knowledge of the following would be desirable:

-Experience of working in medium sized multidisciplinary development teams

-Ability to self installs various Operating Systems (Linux, Unix, Windows Adv Server & XP)

-Software and hardware validation of multi-media, networks, operating systems and I/O devices against the DVT (Device Validation and Test) schedule

-System validation including DVT (Design Validation Trial), SPIT (Signal, Power, Integrity & Timing) environmental & regulatory approval.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated individual capable of working with a minimum of supervision in a dynamic team environment. Good interpersonal skills: be able to communicate in English and with members of other teams, departments and clients; as a high degree of liaison is needed.
