Amazon is continuing to enhance its capabilities to source directly from the factories of its major suppliers globally and establish its global supply chain to meet the customer demand and increasingly elections. For this purpose we set up an Operation Specialist to develop the according strategies and tactics.
As an Operation Specialist you will execute and implement according to supply chain and operational strategies to drive the performance of origin operations to improve the flow of goods (cost, time and visibility) across Amazon retail program (including DI and PB business). This individual will partner with various teams across Amazon (Retail, Compliance, Supply Chain Technology, Finance and Inbound teams) as well as external partners(Ocean, Air, Rail carriers and LSPs) to support the launch and stabilize new process flow and business initiatives at origin, and drive continuous operational productivity and quality improvement. The successful candidate is good at business request collection and understanding, cross team communication, issue tracking and problem solving who works well in a fast-paced, ambiguous enviroment. This candidate demonstrates strong ownership with data-driven approach to solve daily issues and problems across our Imports supply chain.
The responsibilities are:
? Attend/host regular review meetings with Origin LSP and carriers, including Ocean, Air, and Rail carriers to identify operational defects and improving area through data-driven approach, and closely follow with LSP and carriers to establish actions plan to drive LSP and carriers performance to meet Amazon's requirement.
? Work with cross functional team to promptly deal with daily operational escalations from internal stakeholders (Retail business Vendor manager team and Instock Manager team etc.) and external stakeholders(Ocean/Air/Rail/origin pick-up Carriers and LSP etc.).
? Provide feedback and help to identify the opportunities on process and cost efficiency improvements and build best practices for origin operations
? Track the FCA truck services with service provider. Set the new lane ID for the pick-up service request and execute the primary carrier assignment for the new lane. Evaluate the milk-run request from LSP and promptly approve or decline the milk-run. Regular review on FCA pick up service performance and make sure the service level meet Amazon and vendor expectation.
? Execute the validation of the exception request of low utilization of container from related parties, promptly approve or decline the request.
- Bachelor's degree on supply chain, logistics management or other related major
- 3+ years experience on freighter forwarder Operations/supply Chain/cross border logistics services
- proficiency in oral and written English
- Experience on LSP/Carrier performance management
- Excellent communication skill, with proven ability to effectively manage daily operations and certain level of influence capability to drive improvement actions with external business partners and internal teams to meet operational performance goals
- data capability on tableau, SQL should be a plus
- Detail orientated, issue tracking and resolving capability
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Data driven approach
- Cross functional communication, good at information sharing to stakeholders
- Multi task management skill
- Data skill on SQL, Tableau will be a plus
