Role Summary/Purpose

Essential Responsibilities

As a Design for Producibility (DFP) Project Engineer in the Advance Manufacturing Engineering & Quality COE, this individual will interact regularly with pilot New Product Introduction (NPI) programs across GEHC, globally. Interact with the pilots by supporting the development of a DFP Methodology across GEHC, targeted to ensure inherently-producible new products at their launch (M3). As part of implementing a methodology, this position will be responsible for driving DFP process rigor with the pilots programs, developing content and standardized tools. The selected candidate requires technical expertise, experience in the NPI environment as well as strong facilitation and communication skills. Success will be measured by the incremental improvements in Producibility for NPIs as compared to current products. This position will be based in Wuxi, China and will work with NPI programs in Wuxi, throughout Asia and across all GE Healthcare businesses. The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering & Quality CoE is a recently formed function within the Global Supply Chain organization. This organization’s scope includes the development, deployment and support of metrics, tools, standards and procedures related to product quality, designs for producibility, process technology development and manufacturing engineering rigor. Essential Responsibilities: - Interact with chosen pilot NPI program teams. Support and facilitate the effective application of what you have developed, collect feedback and continue to evolve and improve the methods and tools for DFP at GEHC. - Collaborate cross functionally to build DFP into the NPI process and establish a sustain mechanism. - Become an established SME (subject matter expert) in DFP, Process-DFSS and Lean 3P for NPIs. - Support the development of DFP effectiveness measures and scorecards. - Support the development of a consistent process/format for definition of NPI Program “Business Requirements” (cost, quality, cycle time, reliability). - Develop and deliver supporting tools and templates to ensure efficient, consistent, execution across GEHC. - Support the development and deployment of a methodology for DFP at GEHC, documented in standards and work instructions. Note: The term DFP is being used simplistically and implies a methodology that will encompass Design for Manufacture, Test, Assembly, Service, etc (DFx), including a strong emphasis on upfront application of Six Sigma and Lean 3P principles.

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Bachelors of Science in Engineering or related field (Science)2. Minimum of 3 years industrial experience 3. Direct experience working in the NPI environment 4. Minimum DMAIC GB certified, with desire to pursue DFSS BB certification5. Strong working knowledge in DFx principles 6. Working knowledge of Lean principles and tools, with desire to grow strong practical competency. 7. Working knowledge of GEHC QMS procedures for Design Controls and Design Transfer8. Strong communication Skills, written and verbal.9. Willing to travel internationally and domestically as necessary.
