Job Responsibilities
The Lead Business Consultant with Digital Scouting aspects is a pro-active role, providing project management, demand management for innovations and business consulting to the business partners for the APAC region and global.In addition the role also includes Digital scouting activities and therefore is responsible for scouting, identifying and assessing promising digital innovations and new technologies to increase our business footprint in Digital Health.
Provide project and program management services with focus on innovations but not limited to; through ongoing consultation with business clients, the consultant identifies, challenges and develops business needs, shapes and develops scope and requirements, and champions innovative process changes and/or technology-enabled solutions. The consultant leads and manages the projects from local/small to Global/big. which is from beginning to end, includes defining project scope and deliverables that support business goals and strategies.
Serve as a responsible business partner in assigned area. Take responsibility for our solutions and provide optimization and innovation for implemented and/or assigned systems.
Business Consultancy/Customer facing:
- With Strong stakeholder management skills and good understanding of Pharma and especially Digital Health, plays a pivotal role in developing a shared understanding of the strategic goals and business needs of BI stakeholders. Engages in close relationships with business and translates strategic goals into digital opportunity areas.
- Demonstrates a thorough understanding of multiple business teams, including all business processes, and the interactions between these business domains. Consistently influences through an acknowledged recognition of business needs and corresponding innovation opportunities. Communicates with stakeholders in business terms. Independently proposes new and improved business processes, championing innovation where possible. Need strong business acumen/knowledge.
- Plans, organizes and oversees resources to achieve the goals and objectives of innovation projects according to defined business goals and strategies. Addresses all other aspects of the IT Business Partnering Project Manager role.
- Performs as a liaison function between the business and IT. In close partnership with key business stakeholders, matches and prioritizes demands on IT projects and services with high innovation focus to maximize value to the business.
- Acts for and manage the portfolio of ongoing digital trend scouting activities within the function in close collaboration with other digital scouting entities at BI (e.g. at BI X).
- Screens for digital trends and assesses their relevance for our business area. Have the overview on ongoing scouting requests from our Business area as well as other scouting entities. and supports processing requests on specific digital opportunities, development of recommendations for actions and facilitation of next steps.
- Supports the build-up of and participates in a BI-wide digital scouting network.
- Support the development of an external BI innovation network, by establishing relationships with accelerators, incubators, academic programs and participating in industry/technology-related conventions.
- Acts as mentor and coach and helps to develop the skill set of other colleagues in our group esp. in Agile Methodologies like Scrum and Design Thinking but not limited to.
Good understanding of those technologies and how to gain benefits out of it. Works closely with Data services team to support our projects and initiatives.
Contract and Vendor Management:
- Support the cross-tower function esp. for local and AP regional tasks.
Geographical aspect:
- The focus of the position will be responsible to the China region as well as the whole AP region. And also, projects or initiatives can be handled on a global level.
Interfaces:
- Extensive collaboration with business clients and related stakeholders, local and regional external partner and other IT functions and external service providers. Manage simultaneously external partners and service providers during project execution.
- Collaboration with IT and other data science and innovation groups across the company.
Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, MBA Business Administration or equivalent
- Language skills & proficiency: Excellent spoken and written English.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role.
- Solid understanding of system development life cycle methodology.
- Previous experience in a regulated environment, optimally with Medical domain know-how.
- Good understanding of innovative topics like AI, ML, RWD.
- Solid knowledge and experience with Agile Methodologies like Scrum, Design Thinking… and able to inspire others
- Demonstrated architectural understanding, including information modelling and technology architectures and their link to business architecture.
- Good experience in data and dataflow analysis and integration oversight.
- Strong project management experience.
- Understanding of methodologies for system design and development as well as validation, regulatory and legal requirements.
- Understanding of the global market for digital health is an advantage.
- Experience and willingness with working in a virtual, international and multicultural environment.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks and work within deadlines.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Willingness and readiness to travel.
- Excellent in problem solving, influencing, and ability to manage conflicts. Leader with strong customer focus and excellent communication and networking skills, combine creativity with analytical skills and curious and very interested in new technologies and digital innovations.
