Overview of role

To develop new and existing processes for production on site under the guidance of their line manager

Purpose of role

• To optimise site manufacturing processes from laboratory to full scale production, in support of the site's requirements.
• To identify problems in conjunction with their line manager (both simple and complex) and to deliver creative solutions by undertaking detailed investigations with other departments on site to maximise the right first time rate and process efficiencies.
• To plan and organise multiple projects ranging in length from days to > 12 months and prioritise accordingly.
• To provide technical support to the production department as required, e.g. resolving manufacturing problems, process changes etc.
• To produce samples for despatch and evaluation by customers as requested by the sales team.
• To ensure process documentation is maintained to the appropriate standard as required by the site.
• To ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with the site SHE policy and specific laboratory requirements.
• To formally record work performed in accordance with site QA systems and issue to the rest of the business.
• To maintain verbal communications with most departments on site
• To be accountable for the health and safety of themselves and others.
• Although there is no line management responsibility, this role may supervise temporary placement staff e.g. students.

Requirments

• above 3 years research and development work experiences on chemical industry
• powder, or mineral powder, paint, film coating background is preferable
• well English writing and speaking
