Material science is to study the properties of solid materials (polymer) and how those properties are determined by a material’s composition and structure. The goal of establishing material science capability in PPG TEDA Innovation Center is to build deep understanding of the origins of polymer properties to guide the polymer design, formulation development and ultimately develop and commercialize differentiate coating, adhesive & sealant products to meet customer requirement and support business growth. 

材料科学是研究固体材料(聚合物)的性质以及这些性质是如何由材料的组成和结构决定的。在泰达的全球涂料创新中心开展材料科学研究的目标是深入研究和理解聚合物材料性能的本质，以指导聚合物设计、配方开发，并最终开发和生产出差异化的涂料、胶粘剂和密封胶等产品，满足客户需求，支持业务增长。

工作职责：

- Characterize polymer performance such as: viscoelastic behavior, microstructure, Surface morphology & properties, polymer/polymer interactions as well as performance in heterophase systems (such as pigments, filler and additives). 

- Study structure and property relationship. Utilize statistic tools to build database & predict model to articulate coating’s performance map with formulation matrix. 

- Utilize these findings and tools to balance products conflicting properties, optimize performance & operation window to accelerate new product development and commercialization.

- 表征聚合物材料性能，例如粘弹性行为、微观结构、表面形貌和性能、聚合物/聚合物相互作用以及聚合物在多相体系中的性能 (如颜料、填料和添加剂)。

- 研究聚合物材料结构与性能的关系。利用统计工具建立数据库和预测模型，建立涂料综合性能与配方参数之间的关系。

- 利用材料科学的发现和工具来平衡相互矛盾的性能要求，优化产品的性能和工艺操作窗口，以加速新产品的开发和商业化。

任职要求：

- PHD / Master Degree in polymer, material sciences, surface science or related major, PhD is preferred

- Familiar with polymer physics such as polymer morphology, rheology, molecular weight and distribution, solubility and mechanical properties.

- Experienced in polymer analysis such as Rheology, DMA, DSC, TGA etc is preferred. 

-  Experienced in using statistical tools such as JMP, Minitab etc. is a plus.

- 博士/硕士学位，相关专业为高分子、材料学、表面化学等。

- 熟悉高分子物理，了解诸如高分子微观形态、流变行为，分子量及分布，溶解性能以及材料机械性能等。

- 具有聚合物分析经验优先，例如Rheology, DMA, DSC, TGA等。

- 具有统计实验方法和数据分析的应用经验优先。
