Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    

Design and develop new products and improvements to current products to be applied in automotive power drive systems, based on ‘bookshelf’ design platforms. Provide product design input of new products and product improvements to global product platforms based on local customer needs. Manage design projects in area of responsibility, including leading product development, testing of prototypes, problem solving and finalize product drawings.

    

Key duties include:

• Create product concepts, DFMEAs, FTA, DVPRs, DOE, based on customer needs past experience and input from TPM and SE.
• Understanding and applying engineering product and material specification perform engineering calculations and testing to select best product to meet customer needs.
• Understanding and applying design guides, meet the safety regulation (HSE) and the IMDS& CAMDS.
• Creating 2D and 3D CAD models using Company or customer specified software and meeting customer requirements & standardized, implement ECR as necessary.
• Evaluating designs for ease of assembly / manufacture and the use of common components
• Calculating product static and dynamic loads, Performing stress/ strain calculations
• Performing tolerance stack ups and clearance checks, special characteristics defined
• Perform 3D layout package check based on customer provided package criterion.
• Plan and actively participate in development of products working with suppliers of components, perform process capability and cost analysis. Supplying engineering BOM for the quotation.
• As required meet with customer and present technical product solution presentation.
• Interact with peers, colleagues in other locations, others in industry, and at universities to discover new ideas and leverage existing ideas which will ultimately lead to new products and/or improvements to existing products
• Planning, implementing and managing engineering projects align with 4 phases
• Communicating design requirements to our purchasing, manufacturing and quality departments as well as to our component suppliers
• Mandatory on-site support, Production and process problem solving
• Other tasks or duties as assigned

Required Skills:

• Bachelor degree or above in mechanical engineering or related disciplines
• Minimum 2 years’ experience of mechanical design in the automotive industry or relation experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical design and geometric tolerance is essential
• Proficiency in PROE or other 3D software application, and 2D drawing making.
• Familiar with die casting or stamping or injection mold process’s which are used within the automotive industry
• Have the program experience with OEM will be better, know the ISO 9000 & AITF 16949 process
• Knowledge of HSE policy and related safety policy: IMDS, CAMDS ,ELV and so on
• Fluent English communication skills in both oral and written
• Be able to act as a team player in a global team (Japan, Germany, NA)
• Frequent business trip is required
