Responsible for electronics development. Grow, develop and manage electronics team and facilities. Responsible for development, NPI and sustaining engineering. Electronics development of product categories developed in China and working with European development teams. Develop electronics competence in other functions such as test, quality and operations.

Principle Responsibilities:

●Direct responsibility for electronics development team.

●Fluent and frequent communication with European design centers (verbal, written, video, daily standups)

●Management of embedded HW and SW development 

●Development of kitchen appliances including connected products with wireless communications 

●Growth and expansion of team to fulfil full scope of responsibility.

●Sustaining engineering through production life of products manufactured.

●Prioritise effectively based on input from multiple internal customers

●Management of development activities in suppliers as well as internal development.

●Create laboratory facilities.

●Develop electronics capabilities in other departments such as validation test, manufacturing engineering, quality etc.

●Status reporting of projects to stakeholders

●Steer product design direction and detailed design involvement when necessary.

●Organising and participating in design reviews.

●Lead technical problem solving

●Define and review test plans and maintain product functionality and safety standards suitable for volume consumer electronics

Qualifications & Experience:

●Degree level in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering.

●10+ years experience in an applicable engineering product development role 

●3 years + in a manager role

●Excellent communication in Chinese and English and experience of working with western companies.

●Experience of building new teams

●High level of competence in microcontroller and analogue hardware design

●Embedded software development 

●Design to meet safety requirements of consumer products in European and US markets

●Prototype and volume PCBA manufacture, test fixtures, DFM, DFT.

●Supplier negotiation and cost optimisation

●Test management, planning, problem solving, automated test techniques and software tools, bug tracking.

●Supplier negotiation and cost optimisation

●Team resource management and planning, project management.

●Ability to identify and learn new technologies quickly.
