'Head of Strategic Purchasing China' develop and implement a long-term strategy, aiming to make cost-efficient purchases for the Chinese and world-wide production sites.

As the Head of the Strategic Purchasing you lead a team of one Strategic Purchasing Supervisor, two Strategic Buyers, two Supplier Quality Engineers and one Purchasing Controller.

The main functional responsibilities are:
- You ensure a build-up and optimization of a competitive supplier base in order to increase levels of localization in the Chinese market, while maintaining quality standards
- You optimize the purchasing costs by continuously reducing the price level, while obtaining better commercial terms and conditions
- You set targets on supplier performance, initiating and driving supplier developments on key suppliers with regular follow-up on the results
- You support global sourcing activities by forcing the export from China to world-wide production facilities.
- You report all figures and results to the General Manager.

Profile
- Minimum 8 years purchasing experience in an industrial environment, including 3 in a strategic management position.
- Good knowledge of the supplier market for castings, welded parts, geared parts.
- Language skills: Good English level (both written and spoken). German is a plus.
- Skilled with MS-Office and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
- You are a networker and good at gathering necessary information in -and outside the company.
- You are a manager who clearly communicates within the company and motivates people.
- You are analytical and able to convert this into a strategic action plan
- You are hands-on, entrepreneurial spirited and like to carry out procurement activities yourself.
- You are accurate and can easily interpret figures.
- You are flexible and mobile.
- You are a good negotiator.
- You are a person of integrity.
- You are communicative.
