Position Summary:

To assist General Manager by taking charge of the overall warehouse operation and performing responsibilities to ensure all standards are met.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Opening and closing building if applicable
• Ensure adequate staff needs are met
• Change videotapes for security recording
• Record temperatures in engine room from the compressors
• Check air compressors for fire system
• Make sure the building is clean inside and outside
• Review all claims and cuts
• Check full containers for pin locks for security
• Review all e-mailed photos of damaged product/containers to customers
• Fills in for General Manger in his absence
• Resolve daily problems pertaining to warehouse operations

Other functions:

• Safety training (warehouse and dock) train for all machinery and equipment being used by employees
• Oversee all operations i.e. shipping, receiving, inventory, warehouse workers, maintenance staff
• Ensure inventory is kept as accurate as possible
• Enter orders and tallies if needed before or after hours
• Program and update inventory scanners
• Hire and train all warehouse employees
• Monitor a 3-month supply for the warehouse i.e. shrink-wrap, tape, paper products, cleaning supplies. This list should be given to the Warehouse Administrator
• Fill in for the Shipping or Receiving Manager in the absence if necessary
• Weekly reports/meetings to the General Manager on productivity and tonnage
• Supervise miscellaneous projects, i.e. take weights, labeling, re-boxing, etc.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements:

· High School Diploma or equivalent

· Basic reading, legible writing and arithmetic skills required

· Experience leading teams in a diverse environment

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills

· Dedicated to customer satisfaction through delivering results

· Time management and self awareness skills

· Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines

· High level of attention to detail

· Extremely high organization skills & ability to multi-task/prioritize

· Willingness to carry out procedures Exactly as directed
