职位描述

  • To ensure the company’s Environmental, Health and Safety Policies are implemented consistently across the organisation.
  • To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety Policy and Practice and to develop and implement new policy and procedure documents as required.
  • Advise the company on any Environmental, Health and Safety  issues on an on-going basis
  • To develop, implement and evaluate a Health and Safety Action Plan for the company, and to contribute to the development and delivery of the Company’s Business Plan.
  • To identify and meet employee training needs in relation to health and safety.
  • To develop and deliver training sessions for managers and frontline employees.
  • To consult employees on Health and Safety issues and to support and develop the role of the company’s Health and Safety Committee, including arranging, and attending meetings.
  • To advise management on the implications of current and emerging health, safety and environmental legislation, including evaluating options, making recommendations and generating action plans to ensure compliance across the organisation.
  • Support managers to maintain safe systems of work and implement best practice, including providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support as needed.
  • To work with managers and staff to ensure risk assessments are prepared and reviewed, as necessary.
  • Make sure that the possible DSEAR (Dangerous Substances & Explosive Atmospheres) and PUWER (Provision use of work equipment) procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure all fire prevention equipment is maintained and serviced and procedures are implemented and adhered to.
  • Carry out regular monitoring of all emissions and chemical usage to ensure compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety standards and regulations
  • Develop and maintain records to ensure that the company complies with Packaging Waste Regulations.
  • Carry out annually health assessment’s and hearing tests in conformance with the findings of the Occupational Health Assessment report, recording this information, any border line cases being referred to Occupational Health.
  • To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems and procedures and identify and implement improvements.
  • To manage the collection, storage and analysis of accident and other health and safety data and to produce management reports, identify trends and recommend action.
  • To ensure routine health and safety activities and checks are carried out, e.g. the review of risk assessments. Take the lead to improve and follow up on risk areas as identified by accidents, risk analysis, employee request and more.
  • To take the lead to evaluate and investigate or, where appropriate, to assist others to investigate the circumstances and causes of near miss, accidents, injuries and more and take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence, including keeping written records of the investigation and action taken. Implement RIDDOR accident reports.
  • To access professional support and guidance from other relevant organisations and external sources as necessary and to develop networks for sharing information.
  • To support managers in the development and implementation of effective Business Continuity plans to minimise disruption to critical functions.
  • To monitor, evaluate and review the Company’s Business Continuity plans.
  • Be first-hand with authorities, inspectors or customers on company’s behalf.
  • Help drive 6S in all company. Also including methodologies to processes and requirements that are designed to systematically achieve continuous improvement in EHS performance. The larger overall goals are sustainability, performance and operational excellence.
  • To participate fully in the company’s Personal Performance and Development process and to undertake training and development relevant to your job.
  • To adopt safe working practices in line with current company procedures and to undertake appropriate training in Health and Safety. To have an awareness of safeguarding procedures and protocols and to attend relevant training.

  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities related to product, process and/or the system.
  • Identify and/or record any problems relating to the product, process and the management system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • To have an awareness of safeguarding procedures and protocols and to attend relevant training.

  • To adopt and install an asset maintenance system for regular checks and maintenance. (Truck, forklifts, compressors, heating and air-conditioning,  ventilation, electrical installations, fire alarms and firefighting equipment and more) and to help, advisory and contracting related to maintenance.

  • To advise and coordinate issues and actions regarding the buildings and facilities, indoor and outdoor, of the company.

  • To assist with any claims against the company from industrial diseases/ accidents, collating information and liaising with management and legal advisors if needed.
  • To undertake any other duties, as requested by management, commensurate with the grade of the post.

Skills required

  1. Good command of English, both in spoken and written
  2. Good communication skills
  3. Ability to influence, persuade and convince people at all levels, demonstrating a proactive approach to work.
  4. Bachelor’s in mechanical engineering
  5. Good knowledge of current Health, Safety and Environmental legislation
  6. Formal training in EHS and possess all related certificates
  7. Mature, Strong sense of responsibility, can work independently
  8. Flexible in approach to hours worked with a full driving licence.
