Reporting to Projects and Engineering Manager Asia, this position will provide leadership and direction by conducting world class project management in the area of process capability to enable the Epoxy business and manufacturing sites to achieve the level of performance consistent with business plans and economic drivers. The aim is to design and construct new or improved manufacturing capabilities within quality, safety and costs and staying in compliance with applicable standards.



Accountabilities:



- Translates Business Objectives into concrete Project Plans and Objectives

- Leadership of multidisciplinary teams to conduct Front-end Loading engineering (scouting studies, project scope definition)in the early project phases to maximize the value added of the project;

- Preparation of Project Execution Strategies and Plans and monitoring during execution

- Ensures that adequate Project organization is set-up and staffed.

- Leads Project Risk Management reviews with project teams and stakeholders. Ensures that Mitigating actions are defined implemented and monitored.

- Reports (including presentation) project progress and performance regularly to Senior Management; for example in Steering Team meetings

- Preparation of Project Progress Reporting



Qualifications:



- Bachelors/Master's Chemical or Mechanical Engineering degree from a Technical University

- Above 10 years of working experience in the (petro)chemical / fine chemical industry / engineering contractor (global and international companies)

- Proven (project management) experience in multiple new projects (ranging from USD 0.1 MM to several USD 10 MM), both in design, engineering, procurement and construction plant ; for green field, brown field and retrofit/revamp type of projects

- Thorough job expertise. Capabilities and interest to learn and increase expertise further

- Fluent in Chinese and English, both oral and written

- Strong focus on safety, both in design and construction

- Strong verbal and written communication skills

- Team player

- Excellent project management skills;

- Strong analytical skills
