Job description
-Acts in an advisory capacity to the business unit, provides significant insight and analysis to run the business.
-Plans and executes business operations activities for BU sector/service line business plans.
-Provides a broad range of operational support to the BU sector/service line leader, including: revenue and profit performance analysis, non-sales incentive support, productivity analysis, account growth and erosion analysis, financial performance gaps, and key initiatives.
- Business Operations supports the business mission of the line organization.
- The work focus of this area includes using existing IBM processes, systems and tools to effectively enable the business mission. Specific functional areas include, but are not limited to, business advisement, pipeline management, process & compliance, revenue management and delivery excellence.
- Business Ops professionals drive the day to day and periodic operational processes of the business and ensure that accurate and effective measurement, reporting and analysis are provided to the business leadership.
- Business Operations also focuses on introducing process improvements, understanding business control requirements to ensure compliance, managing multiple stakeholder relationships, and applying knowledge of business and financial tools to improve business performance.

Applies professional knowledge of business operations processes to support daily Business Operations and related GBS business activities. Has knowledge of the organizational resources, priorities and plans required to complete assigned activities.
Communication/Negotiation:
-Advises other professionals within Business Operations.
-Advises on the objectives of assigned assignment as they apply to the attainment of GBS objectives.
-Effectively utilize group dynamics.
Problem Solving:
-Analyses and recognises complex problems related to Business Operations and GBS business objectives.
- Applies creativity and judgment to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.
-Analyses situations and develop new system/tool elements, procedures or processes.
Contribution/Leadership:
- Provides on going operational guidance.
- Understand Business Operations' mission and vision.
- Utilises expertise to directly influence people outside Business Operations.
- Sometimes no precedent exists. Defines and decides objectives within specified business concept or project and may have responsibility for tools and assigned resources.
