The Business Application Manager is involved in the following processes and their sub-processes: ?Application improvements / Application Change Request ?Operational Application Management ?Documentation Management ?Training & Testing ?Incident Management ?Problem Management ?Transport Management ?User Management ?Continuity Management Main Responsibility Responsible for the worldwide activities in the functional area, necessary to ensure the proper functioning and operate appropriately, according to the technical and functional specifications defined by the Business Unit Functional Chemicals.
Accountable for: ?Acting on behalf of the BU as the primary intermediate between key users (i.e. SAP) and third-line support-desk and consultants regarding daily operations and functionality belonging to the related area. ?Coordinate handling of functional incidents and executions of RFC's by external supplier ?Maintaining and improving the systems in line with the relevant BU-organizational units ?Provide first line application support e.g. investigation and resolving incidents, solve problem and participate in change management processes. Coordinate testing / acceptance of RFC's in conjunction with power- and key users BU-wide ?Seeking for improvements in the application, which may help the end users in a better job performance ?Application of control to achieve good quality and data consistency (responsibility for quality and consistency lies with the end-user)
Specific tasks: ?Vendor Management oDiscusses defined functionality, status of the tickets, Request for Change estimate with external third line support desk ?Continuity Management oPeriodic telephone standby duty for emergencies (24*7 availability schedule) ?Application Improvements oDiscusses status and progress on maintenance and indentifies issues with Business Process Center of Excellence and discusses the well-functioning of the key users. oAdvice on execution on Request for Changes with basic motivation, incl. first estimate on the effort, to the Business Center of Excellence oPeriodically visits the customer (sites) to discuss tickets, wishes etc with key-users and demonstrate visibility. ?Operational Application Management oKeeping systems up and running used BU-wide oKeep the ticket registration tool daily up to date with all required data oTakes care of testing of new functionality including specific local requirements oMakes specifications for tickets assigned to third line support oOptimizes data uploads oFrequently contact with key users concerning open tickets oChange management: describe problem, analysis, prepare solution, execute the change (self or third party), test the change, amend user documentation or work instruction, implementation, after care. ?Documentation Management oDocumentation and work instructions of processes changes ?Training oSupport for the development of training material
?Incident Management oMonitors the application and interfaces with other systems including monitoring errors and performance ?Problem Management oRegistration of incidents oAnalysis of incidents and appropriate follow-up oEvaluate incidents and initiate improvements when certain incidents occur regularly
?Process improvements oProposes small adaptations in the applications in co-ordination with Business Process Center of Excellence and ensures needed logging of changes and transactions ?Transport Management oCheck on content and execution of transports ?User Management oResponsible for SAP remote support connection and Non-regular users availability. Requirements:
Education and experience ?University degree in the area of Information Management and/or Business Administration, or proven level in related business processes. ?2 years of experience in an Information Management related function. ?3 years of experience in functions in the related business processes ?Experience with SAP R/3 projects
Skills required ?Knowledge of Logistic Business Processes. Knowledge of the Financial (Controlling and Accounting) is preferable. ?Experience in SAP project management, as project member ?General knowledge of the SAP R/3 system and their customizing in the Financial or Logistical modules ?An enthusiastic and motivated team player ?Service minded attitude ?Ability to travel (travelling will be part of the job). ?Good communication skills (including international & multi-cultural communication and cooperation).
