Job Summary:

The Cybersecurity Manager role reports to the Sr. Manager, Security Operations and Threat Intelligence, and is responsible for security event monitoring across network and endpoint security solutions in support of Global Information Security functions. The Manager is also responsible for leading network security projects and proactively protecting information assets from unauthorized or inappropriate access, use or disclosure as well as business disruptions through proper identification and escalation of incidents. In addition to working closely with IT and the Business, regular interaction with internal and external auditors, Legal, Privacy and Ethics is also required of the position.

 

Job Duties:

• Develop an understanding of Newell Brands current and forward-looking threat profile
• Monitor and report on the technology threat landscape
• Perform event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack
• Identify intrusion activity by leveraging alert data from multiple sensors and systems and determine priority for response
• Actively lead network security improvement projects
• Document and escalate incidents that may cause ongoing and immediate impact to the environment
• Analyze identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, effects on system and information
• Notify designated managers, incident responders, and security service provider team members of suspected incidents and articulate the event's history, status, and potential impact for further action
• Participate in technology remediation efforts through cross functional working teams and across business units
• Collaborate with other information security and IT team members to develop governance and implement strategies for monitoring and preventing attacks
• Develop incident reports
• Provide daily summary reports of events and activity relevant to security practices
• Perform security trend analysis and reporting
• Provide evidence for compliance activities; such as SOX, PCI, Data Privacy
• Assist in electronic discovery and digital forensic investigations
• Provide expertise, guidance and advice related to all information security issues
• Participate in after-hours on-call incident management

 

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Management Systems, or related field required
• Applicable certification credentials highly preferred including -  SANS/GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIA), Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA), or as well as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
• 5+ years in an Information Security Role
• Proficiency in English Required
• Experience managing and supporting Palo Alto security products desired
• Experience with CarbonBlack, Crowdstrike and similar endpoint security platforms desired
• Understanding of current threats and exploits to include experience with threat detection, analysis, and remediation
• Ability to triage, define criticality, and resolve or escalate alerts
• Working knowledge of intrusion detection prevention, data loss prevention and vulnerability management
• Working knowledge of application architectures, platforms, and protocols; and their inherent security strengths and weaknesses
• Working knowledge of Windows and Linux servers, IDS/IPS, A/V, SIEMs, DLP, and Firewalls
