ROLE
The Facilities Protection Officer manages the Facilities Protection function for the Company. Facilities Protection involves managing and supporting the fire protection for our facilities; managing, coordinating, and training the facility emergency response teams; and managing the various components of a security program. This also includes working with neighboring companies, communities, and local authorities to protect our people, our company, and our community.



RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
l Manage the activities and resources of the Facility Protection function including security and emergency response management in its daily operations and develop objectives for annual and long term operations
l Lead and develop the staff to optimize the performance of the facility protection group, including Company ERT and contractor security staff. Activities include but are not limited to prioritizing the workload of each individual, communicating regularly, providing guidance and coaching, providing for training and professional development, and allowing them to address tasks outside their routine duties so they stay challenged.
l Manage the coordination and training of the Company Emergency Response Teams and contractor security team to maintain a well-trained response organization to protect Company personnel and property.
l Coordinate and maintain the functionality of the plant Fire Protection and Security systems along with other systems such as firefighting system, plant radio, paging and fire alarm systems.
l Coordinate plant-wide emergency action plans including working with Emergency Area Coordinators to ensure efficient and effective shelter-in-place, evacuation and accountability of personnel.
l Investigation of security related incidents and/or threats potentially impacting the physical sites, property and/or personnel.
l Work to maintain currency in applicable codes, company policies and standards, and industrial standards in emergency response and security.
l Communicate and coordinate with the Company Corporate office and other company sites as it pertains to emergency response and security in conducting Company business.
l Develop and maintain components of the Company Emergency Response and Security procedures and policies.
l Be in charge of development and implementation of emergency response (fire and chemical spill response) plans and scenarios.
l Organize fire and emergency response drills / exercises to each shift crew of ERT and file all drill records.
l To assist manufacturing team, HSE Manager and supply chain team to carry out inspections, safety, firefighting / prevention surveys and formal audits on the site.
l Monitor the performance of contracts / service regarding to maintenance on fire or emergency response facilities or to rescue operations.
l Develop and deliver tactical firefighting / prevention training programs to ERT and plant people.
l Provide security, safety or fire prevention input into daily activities including security, PTW and risk assessments.
l Coordinate maintenance of fire fighting and emergency response equipment.
l Reports any unsafe conditions and potential fire or security risk problem.
l Develop and conduct fire facility daily checklist.
l Reports any opportunities for improvement base on his knowledge, experience and lessons learned
l Expected to undertake appropriate emergency response duties.
l Maintain and monitor stocks of security, fire or emergency response resources (foams, extinguishers, absorbent materials, sand bags, etc.)
