To contribute specialist knowledge to the definition and implementation of a competitive strategy within the sub-function, including cost structure, and/or manages large projects that provide commercially focussed support and/or service delivery to internal and/or external clients.

Accoutabilities:

* Lead the ongoing 18001 certification maintenance initiative across Greater China
* Lead the implementation of OSH initiatives and best practice within the Greater China, including group policies, recognising the different legislative regimes and cultural factors in the respective area.
* Review and incorporate feedback on the effectiveness, comprehensiveness and usability of the OSH system
* To ensure that OSH issues are communicated and acted on effectively
* Monitor measure and review Greater China OSH performance (including trend analysis), against agreed targets and promote a culture of learning and of continuous improvement across the area to drive performance and prepare management reports as required.
* To work with the regional OSH and operational teams to identify and manage the OSH risks
* To provide technical support for the Group Business Assurance audit process
* To monitor and ensure that corrective action is taken with respect to OSH audit and inspection processes.
* To lead by example and champion effective OSH performance improvement
* To lead incident investigations for medium/high risk incidents including root cause analysis.
* To manage OSH training within Greater China.
* Work constructively and cooperatively as part of the Greater China Leadership team and Asia OSH Team to contribute to the development and execution of the Area and Regional strategy.
* Ensuring Business Continuity plans and Risk Registers plans are in place, implemented and tested at regular intervals

Requirements:

* Appropriate University Degree
* 15 Years experience in a related industry with at least 10 actively involved in Health and Safety management
* NEBOSH Diploma level or equivalent
* Proven communication skills in a multi cultural environment
* Good influencing and motivating skills.
* Ability to work in partnership with operational managers
* Chartered member of a relevant safety institute (or evidence of working towards this)
