Primary Functions 

    Implement automation/control part of engineering Capex projects from control design and instrument and valve specification preparation in preliminary and detail engineering phase, drafting process control description and scheme, control system sourcing and configuration, instrument and valve selection and installation, start-up commissioning to turn-a-key handover to user departments with fully compliance with EHS and quality standard for Shanghai site.   

Reports To: Project Manager   

Key Deliverables   Create Competitive Edge：

·         Affirm EHS of engineering project

？  Participation of safety program (HAZOP, MOC, RA, etc) during project design, equipment selection, construction, installation, etc;

？  Ensure project execution compliance with company standard and GB regulation.

？  Play a key role to supervise contractor safety and conduct safety training/review;

？  100% report EHS accident;

·         Ensure engineering project execution

？  Communicate with user departments to clearly understand their needs to make project design;

？  Develop engineering design for major capital projects such as PFD, P&ID, layout, specifications, etc.

？  Be the bridge between control system vendor and process owner, and draft control description, scheme and control logic.

？  Play as a goal keeper to review specification for all kinds of instrument and valves

？  Interface with suppliers and vendors to clarify for technical proposal.

？  Supervise installation/configuration/programming for all control related stuffs to ensure their safety and full compliance with project scheme and quality.

？  Engage in project commissioning and handover to make sure requirements from engineering design delivered.

·         Perform control system optimization

？  To lead control system continuous improvement by optimizing program logics, interlocks, complying with production procedures, adding new recipes, etc. during capital project execution and production operation after project handover.

Help to strengthen the knowledge regarding process, equipment, control etc. in the team by means of training and valuable input

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

    ·         Education - Bachelor of Science in Control Engineering, Process Automation, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience

·         Language skill – Be able to communicate effectively in spoken and written English

·         Project & Engineering knowledge and experience - at least 5 years hands-on experience on engineering project in food, pharmaceutical or fine chemical industry.

·         Process automation knowledge – Hands on experience with DCS/PLC configuration and programming, chemical process instrument/valves selection. Be conversant with DeltaV, ControlLogix and their batch programming is a plus.

·         Project amount value: total involved project amount value > 3 million USD

·         EHS Knowledge - EHS awareness and knowledge (Work Permit, LOTOTO, MOC, etc.)

·         PC skill - Skills with PC software like AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Word and MS Project, etc.…

Communication skills - Good communications skills, open mind and problem-solving skills
