Compliance operation team in China is an integral part of Amazon and focus on a wide range of rules and regulations. There are multiple compliance programs and frameworks that work towards solving for different regulatory challenges. Some of these processes include Restricted Products, Hazmat, Import & Export Compliance, Trade Compliance to name a few.
Roles and Responsibility:
As an analyst you are responsible for building a robust set of operational and business metrics, working with cross-functional teams to design, build, deploy the reporting systems, and utilize metrics to determine improvement opportunities. Working in a dynamic environment, you will be responsible for monitoring key success metrics, identifying business metrics that assess risk and challenges, collaboratively shape solutions with the product compliance team. You need to be an effective user of Amazon business intelligence tools, and data warehouses to help analyze compliance performance across segments. You will be expected to quickly become a subject matter expert of Amazon data structures and data flows, and help business leaders improve business processes, make better decisions, and generate value.
In this role, you are expected to work closely with your peers, operations managers to understand their requirement and translate them in to actionable business metrics.
The role will require the ability to extract data from various sources & to design/construct/execute complex analyses to finally come up with data/reports that help solve the business problem.
Key Performance Areas:
· Understand the vision, direction and culture of all compliance operations at C-Ops
· Understand requirements from the management and product compliance teams and map them with data sources / data warehouse
· Execute high priority (i.e. cross functional, high impact) projects to improve operations performance with the help of Operations Analytics managers
· Responsible to plan resourcing, analyze and report daily, weekly and monthly metrics; identify trends and opportunities to reduce costs and improve processes
· Define MI reporting requirements and compliance related dashboards to enable an integrated approach covering all compliance topics. Build a compliance org level reporting to help management understand challenges and risks faced around compliance
· Increasingly partner with stakeholders like Product Compliance and or Retail and be a part of the solution process, to potentially minimize revenue impacts owing to compliance actions.
· Retrieve and analyze data using SQL, Excel, Access and other data management systems.
· Monitor existing metrics and partnering with internal teams to identify process and system improvement opportunities
· Design and implement reporting solutions that enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
? Prior experience working in ecommerce / retail / supply chain / financial services business.
? At least 1 year of experience working in Analytics / Business Intelligence environment
? Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent, or in any quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance
? Detail-oriented and must have an aptitude for solving unstructured problems. The role will require the ability to extract data from various sources & to design/construct/execute complex analyses to finally come up with data/reports that help solve the business problem.
? Proficiency with quantitative analysis, and databases(including proficiency with tools such as Excel and Access). Worked extensively in large scale Data bases and data warehouses and SQL in a business environment. SQL skill is a must ( MySQL,Teradata,Oracle,Hive, etc)
? Proficient in MS Access, Visio, and data visualization tool ( tableau, Excel Macro including VBA)
· Coding skill in Python, Java, C/C++(Mason, Perl and/or JavaScript experience is a plus)
? Good written English and communication skills
· Prior experience in design and execution of analytical projects
· IT/Scrum Project Management experience (PMP/PMP-ACP awarded is a plus)
