Responsibilities:

1. Overall operation/Review of the Piping Specialists group and the high quality and timely completion of their work within the established work hour budgets for the assigned project.
2. Ensuring engineering and design quality, technical accuracy of drawings, material quantities, specifications, procedures, etc. produced within the piping disciplines assigned to him.
3. Execution of assigned work in accordance with applicable contract procedures, standards.
4. Adherence to PPG Engineering Procedure / Work Instruction for Design safety, and to ensure the adoption of safe attitudes towards engineering design, and that features affecting the safety and integrity of the project are reviewed by appropriately authorized engineers from other groups/departments.
5. Ensuring adequate flow of information within Piping and other disciplines to ensure uniformity in design and drafting activities.
6. Preparing, Reviewing, Issuing and follow up of all Piping Deliverables up to the issue for construction.
7. Approving all Piping deliverables produced with in the Piping team, prior to initial and Construction Release.
8. Reviewing, issuing and follow-up the comments, within his term of reference, on all drawings/documents related to other discipline which may be affected by piping activities.
9. Submit monthly progress reports and drawing indices to Project Control.
10. Review requests for changes and if outside the scope of work, submit to Project Engineering Manager an estimate of man-hours, costs, and any effect to programmed.
11. Ensure that the 3D model represents satisfactory design practice and participate PPG project Model reviews.
12. Review and approve technical bid summaries when required.
13. Prepare and review MEI package relevant to piping disciplines.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor Degree Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related majors with at least 8 years of experience in Paint / Petrochemical / Chemical Plant Projects.Knowledge of Plot Plan / Equipment Layout development, Piping Layout, Piping Materials, piping Stress Analysis and 3D Computer Aided Design like PDS/PDMS etc.
2. Familiar with International and China design codes and relative China regulations and standards, including but not limited API, ISO, ASME, ASTM, HI, SH, HG, GB.
3. Familiar with international engineering company working procedures, and with strong capacity on preparing Engineering Documentations, such as project specifications, MRs, TBE, Vendor’s documents reviewing and comments and so on.
4. Good computer skill at the piping design software and normal software Excel, Word and CAD etc.
5. Solid teamwork spirit, and good communication skill with Client, Supplier and Contractors; good English language skill on both writing and speaking; be able to set up a good relationship with other disciplines in work.
