Responsibilities:

·         Perform mechanical structure design based on given ID data, product specification and reliability and quality requirement in accordance to Microsoft process.

·         Perform technical analysis using necessary methodologies to enhance design quality, including but not limited, structural simulation, tolerance analysis, prototypes and tests.

·         Perform failure analysis and take corrective actions to solve mechanical bugs and track/update bugs in Triage system

·         Create, update, review and release component and product specifications and technical documents.

·         Create reports to present mechanical status and highlight hot issues and action plan.

·         Prepare mechanical BOM structure and update accordingly throughout lifetime of product.

·         Participate via the Supplier Lead on meetings that are related to mechanical topics and issues and provide input or feedback based on the request received.

·         Work with Microsoft T1 and/or T2 vendors for project mechanical development.

·         Support builds during product development phase and step in for quick troubleshooting.

·         Perform mechanical design with consideration for cost and assembly and manufacture, drive critical process improvement for meeting requirements.

·         Submit proposals and samples for approval from Microsoft when needed.

·         Provide technical information for RFQ and review the input from suppliers.

·         Develop necessary design and/or prototypes used for technical exploration.

Qualifications:  

·         Minimum 10 years’ of related working experience;

·         Minimum 5 years’ experience required in consumer electronics or hi-tech industry;

·         In-depth experience with product development processes;

·         Experience in Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
