Materials Technology
A world-leading manufacturer of high value-added products in advanced materials, special alloys, metallic and ceramic resistance materials. The product areas comprise Tube, Strip, Primary Products, Wire and Heating Technology.


Position Description
Management of plant production and operations with people management of 60 people with 6 direct reports (Engineering Manager, Quality Manager, Production Managers for different production lines/areas, Local HRA, Local Financial Controller) Safety
The site manager is responsible to make sure that the manufacturing is safe and following Sandvik EHS directives.
The Site Manager can be legally responsible for SHM in the country where he/she works. Manufacturing
The Site Manager is responsible for delivery accuracy, quality standards and a healthy working environment according to Sandvik standards. All production sites should gain productivity each year to make sure we have a lean and competitive manufacturing with a true understanding of customer value.The productivity can be gained through technical improvements (new machines, processes etc) or by how the work is performed (the effectiveness of the processes)
Leadership
The site manager is responsible to lead and support his/her direct reports and to make sure that corporate- and local HR processes are followed. The site manager is responsible to promote Sandvik values, diversity & inclusion The site manager is also responsible that whole management team follows the same. Site-Management
Representative of board. Representative of local agency, government to take care of legal issues. Act as contact window of three Sandvik units, Walter, SMC and Hard Materials. Ensure daily general affairs operations in Wuxi are running smoothly.
SHM-level
Except from the BU managers the Site Managers will participate in the Operations coordination for SHM, the tasks and activities at this level will be coordinated by the Director of Operations and reported to the BU Managers and the SHM EMG teams.


Position Requirements
At least 3 years' experience at equivalent position with MNC manufactory plants, and leadership skills are proven. Preferably the Site Manager can show a background with a clear change management profile and with experience from a global environment.
Very knowledgeable in Lean and/or Six Sigma with practical experience in project development and implementation
Good command in English oral and written communication
The knowledge of creating a culture of continuous improvement and tools to achieve that is also important Bachelor degree in Engineering or related. MBA is a plus
