As a Design Engineer, you will be part of the Industrial Automation Business and Turbocharging Business Line (BL) based in Chongqing. ABB is the World leader in Industrial Automation (IA) Business delivers integrated solutions for control, plant optimization, and industry-specific application knowledge and services to help process industry customers worldwide to meet their critical business needs in the areas of operational profitability, capital productivity, risk management and global responsibility. These industries include oil and gas, power, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, metals, cement, minerals, marine and turbocharging.

You will be responsible to ensure product health and keep product care cost on a low level for allocated products during their entire lifecycle.

- Assess technical risk for delivery variant request.
- Technical solution for continuous product improvement, in cooperation with technical service and R&D.
- Participate in design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations according to specification.
- Ensure highly consistent material and documents consistency and correctness of data during the lifecycle.
- Hold ownership for product design (3D&2D), single part definition and product documentation, outline drawings, design solids for OEM’s, etc.
- Periodic exchange with product care organization of co-operation partners and ABB internal product groups.
- Assure lean and effective product care processes.
- Review and improve design-to-manufacturing and design-to-assembly solutions for product development & car.
- Collaborate with supply chain function in preparation of required documentation for RFQs and proposals.

- A Bachelor or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product design in a relevant field of engineering.
- Advanced level of understanding for CAD, CATIA V5 preferred.
- Familiar in ERP knowledge, SAP/R3 is plus.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in inter-divisional cooperation.
- Fluent English in written and spoken.
- A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
