POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. At least 5 years shop experience, preferably working experience in heavy equipment manufacturing. Basic knowledge in fabrication, welding, forging, casting, heat treatment, NDE, testing etc. Welding Engineer and/or Quality Engineering and/or NDE Certification preferred. Technical writing skills and understanding of inspection and manufacturing processes. Fluent English skills are a must. Computer literate. Diligent and serious-minded attitude to work.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensures compliance to quality requirements per Metso drawings and specifications.
Clarifies specifications and documents ensuring compliance to Metso specifications.
Communicate process inspection techniques to suppliers.
Oversee & participates in inspections in production processes.
Participates in supplier nonconformances.
Communicate and clarify acceptable rework instructions and communicate to suppliers.
Takes positive action with supplier to ensure quality standards are met.
Recommends changes in manufacturing processes and supplier systems to improve product quality.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to climb on large castings and fabrications. Use inspection instruments, which require manual dexterity and visual acuity. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer and other office equipment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Position will require frequent travel within China. Long time separation with family will be required.
