Description：
· As a Project Engineer, you will work within the Commercial area of the Product Group and will be considered the “Marketing expert for assigned products and industry”
· Job Duties/Assignments:
· Responsible for evaluating Caterpillar and competitive vehicles and related attachment products, developing and assembling data including machine and customer requirements and determine sales potential.
· Will become familiar with products assigned and their worldwide competition by obtaining information relating to performance, application, operating characteristics, safety, user needs and preferences etc.
· As Project Engineer you will travel to customers and dealers and observe operations in the field; tests at company proving grounds; follow prototype units and assist in interviewing sales management, field personnel, dealers, users and operators for opinions and ideas about products and their performance.
· You will review information, suggestions and recommendations for product needs received from marketing companies.
· You will analyze and evaluate the data and opinions obtained and determine if changes to current product, extension of current product line or development of new products is required.
· You will assist in preparing recommendations and/or functional specifications for the New Product Introduction Team and commercial management, also assisting on long-range (5year) product forecasting.
· As Project Engineer you will prepare requests for Product Activity Notices (PAN), new product and general information releases, pricing recommendations, products committee and/or product evaluation group materials and other presentations showing sales opportunities for possible new or improved models.
· You will develop and maintain a close liaison with active participation in a multi-disciplined New Product Introduction Team, providing marketing input and direction for the new product programs.
Required Qualifications:
· A college degree in the Engineering or Marketing field or equivalent broad technical product/mechanical related background.
· Will normally have 5-10 years experience in the industry specific to their products.
· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills are desired for working with development teams and worldwide marketing units.
· This position requires an individual with excellent communications skills and the ability to work with all levels of personnel both inside and outside the company.
