The key roles and responsibilities would include but not limited to: 

• Use trade and ecommunication surveillance tools to analyze and disposition system generated alerts across various platforms within the firm; and thereby escalate any potential breaches of policies / code of conduct, relevant laws, regulations and exchange rules. 
• Support analysis conducted through market data vendors and Internet research, and by maintaining awareness of regional markets and regulatory activity as they may impact China based exchanges.
• In consultation with the Team and Team Manager, refer or escalate any unusual or suspicious cases during the course of alert reviews to the relevant LOB / Country Compliance officers and/or other counterparties in accordance with the defined operational process.
• Ensure escalated cases are followed up and documentation is updated in our case register in a timely manner.
• Participate in market conduct related investigations.
• Attend meetings and present escalated cases as required.     
• Assist in establishing internal control processes and developing/updating procedures.   

 

 Key Skills & Experience

• You will have a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience in Equities or FnO trade surveillance / front office controls at a Tier 1 bank, broker or regulator;
• Proven expertise using Hundsun or any other surveillance / monitoring system as well as a good working level knowledge of Bloomberg or Reuters;
• Strong product knowledge over exchange traded securities, especially in the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges;
• Appreciation of risk, exchange rules and market misconduct for the timely and accurate investigation and disposition of alerts;
• Good understanding of market abuse and best practice scenarios;
• Understanding of trading jargon and market commentary/color to complement Ecom surveillance;
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage several simultaneous tasks;
• A strong team player and able to engage people across all corporate hierarchies;
• Flexible and adaptable to dynamically changing work processes and environment;
• Adaptability to work under time pressure and resiliency to provide stable and consistent performance;
• Excellent computer skills especially in standard Microsoft Office applications and Sharepoint.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin and English at all levels both orally and in writing
• Related professional qualification will be helpful
